This is it. In a few short hours, Bloodbound will be ending and I am so excited yet so scared. I’m going to miss Adrian, Kamilah, Jax, and Lily so much and despite whatever happens, it has been an honor to know these amazing characters. Bloodbound will always be one of my favorite series in Choices out there and I’m sad that it’s ending.
To Adrian Raines, who’s been through hell and back. Despite what the world throws at him, with him losing his wife and child to enduring centuries of brainwashing, he is one of the most decent and kindest man I have met. He is patient, strong, and a pure romantic. It’s no wonder why so many people had fallen in love with him. Myself included.
To Kamilah Sayeed, who is no doubt one of the most badass characters in not just in the series but in Choices general. She’s my role model and of course, will always be my favorite Vampire Queen. Not only that she broke away from Gaius’s control, she stood up to him and was willing to do whatever it took to save and protect those she love. Even if she won’t say it out loud, we know.
To Jax Matsuo, who’s been loyal, passionate, and amazing as hell. Before being turned, he was lost and was struggling on his purpose. I can see that through decades as he became leader of the Clanless and became willing to protect and sacrifice himself just so innocent people can be save. I know that Takeshi’s proud of the man he came to be and so are all the rest of us.
To Lily Spencer, who is 100% the bestest friend anyone ask for. I honestly have no idea what we would do without her. Not only has she been the most loyal, funniest, and kindest person I’ve met, anyone who has the honor to met her and become her friend, is no doubt the luckiest person in the world. Whether she is your LIs or not, we all have to agree that she is not doubt our soulmate.
Thank you Pixelberry for giving us these amazing characters and this story. While I’m crying that it’s ending and I’m scared of the ending, I’m aware that part of the journey is the end and I’m going to celebrate that along with other.
I've been replaying The Bloodbound Series to look for clues. It's been interesting to see some of the foreshadowing in the earlier books.
I know a lot of folks think there will be an Endless Summer type ending- but after replaying, I don't believe that's the case. Yes, I know the 3 Wishes story lends credence to that. I could be wrong, but I have my reasons. One, is that it's been done twice already (with ES and ATV), and the endings weren't well received. Two, a CONSTANT recurring them we see is how hard our MC and her group fight for humanity. Adrian and Kamilah (and know Gaius as well) were made to be monsters. They've each had to overcome that darkness- a difficult path for them, and they suffer the guilt of their past.
The genie story is to me a general theme of the series. No matter her response, Adrian hires her on the spot.
She can choose ultimate power- to override the Genie's wishes. She would take the power away from the bad guy so she could fix everything.
To undo the previous wishes- to appreciate what you have. Greed does not end well for characters looking for "more". Nicole, Vega, Gauis, and eventually Rheya.
To murder the genie- taking out the evil so the Genie can do no further harm to any others. MC's response is interesting. She doesn't want to murder the genie out of revenge or hate. She would do it to protect the next person.
There is a moral here we can't forget.
Purity of blood is quite prevalent in the 1st book. When Adrian injects himself with the serum, he states he feels more pure- like the 1st Vampire. She is a side note here and we get our 1st glimpse of what it may be like to have this kind of power. Adrian loses it, and gets all glowy eyed and a little sadistic. His affection for MC is what pulls him out of it.
He later states what a scary feeling it was for him, and that power and the feeling that comes along with it should not exist. He then destroys the serum.
The return of Gauis is made possible by the blood of the Rheya, the First Vampire. He gets even more powerful and evil with glowy eyes, and MC ends up sacrificing herself to kill him. Again, very similar to Adrian with the serum, so we get hints of what Rheya will truly be like.
Lots to unpack in this book, because the writers knew there would be a 3rd book, so they start building up Rheya's backstory as she will be essential to the plot in book 3. We find out how she came to be, how she came to die, Xenocrate's reason for killing her, and how she still has legions of followers, but nothing about how she came to be that way- which I think is very important and why that's left to the final book.
Also of note, there are 2 characters who mention MC having a darkness in her, Serafine and the old woman taking care of the kids at the safehouse.
I point this out not because I think the MC will turn evil, but because I think she has the propensity for it. It will depend on her choices.
Adrian also gets told this twice--
The psychic in the park tell Adrian this and Gauis mentions Adrian's darkness resting just below the surface. It's important because this is a huge issue for Adrian this entire book. He feels he has to tap into that darkness to win against Gaius. Once again, he fights against it. I think our MC will end up doing the same.
Some quick foreshadowing I picked up on this book: in the Louvre, 2 pieces of art they comment on. The Winged Victory of Samothrace- beautiful sculpture of the Greek goddess Nike. Also known as the Goddess of Victory. Her robes remind me very much MC's in the final portrait, perhaps a nod to her Greek heritage.
The other is The Intervention of the Sabine Women. The artist painted this as a tribute to his wife to show that love can prevail over conflict. Adrian and Jax touch in this here, and MC can choose to agree with either.
Now, down to my theory (rubs hands together). We find out what made Rheya snap in Book 3. She had a darkness in her that she used to seek vengeance on the King and his court. But for the most part, she sought peace and coexistence with humans (with advice from Demetrius) UNTIL her loved ones were murdered. After losing Demetrius and Iola, she loses any remaining conscience. This is told to us BOTH by Gauis and Xenocrates.
It's hinted that she wants more power so that she can bring them back. She tried with Demetrius and failed.
Now here is where I see parallels to MC and Rheya.
What I think will happen is that Rheya will kill our LI, if not all four of our group or possibly MC parents as they've been mentioned. That loss will trigger the same feelings Rheya had when she lost Demetrius and Iola. What will make the difference is that even though she is tempted, MC will not give into that darkness.
She will be powerful, possibly more powerful than Rheya, but she will let all the humans out of the theater, choosing to end the darkness of their shared bloodline.
Again, the darkness is there, but her choices will make the difference and she won't let the darkness overtake her.
Demetrius tells us MC will end the original sin and he is proud she will continue on their line.
I think Gauis may end up helping in her murder Rheya, but may get killed himself depending on your previous choices.
After all is said and done, I believe MC will be able to bring her loved ones back, something that Rheya aspired to do, but never could.
If she turns back into a tree ( I'm guessing they'll have to kill her with the stake used on Gauis), I think MC will take and put her next to Demetrius and the 2 trees will fuse together- The tree of Eternal Life and Death. Rheya and Demetrius will be reunited.
I'm not sure who the hooded figure is in MC's visions. Possibly Kano's work? He wouldn't fight, but he was helping her all along. I'm not sure who else would have the ability.
Those are my thoughts- I'm wrong lots! So take this with a grain of salt. 😊 Maybe I'm projecting a hope for a happy ending, but I like them.
But I think our MC will choose not to embrace the darkness that's within. She's been fighting this whole series against it consistently pulling her group back from it, and the love she has for then will ultimately keep her from following the same path as Rheya.
I applaud you for the extent of research and everything... But do you have screen shots of the hooded figure with mc keeps on seeing? I don't know but I think I have missed that

Finally finished! After and eternity later 😂 I would have made a crossover with Nightbound, but the books lacked the common storyline unlike the It Lives series. But I do hope that you guys will love this piece 😊
