[[ So uh.....some REALLY depressing and triggering stuff under the cut. Just a warning and an update cause idk fam, Consider this a catch-all trigger warning ]]

[[ So my mental state def hasn’t been the best as of recent as y’all may or may not have known. I try not to vent too much on my blog but the short version is my boss is awful and has made me the most depressed I’ve ever been in a while - hence looking for a new job. It’s been triggering a lot of overall self-esteem issues and feeling not good enough in ANYTHING (INCLUDING being here or being a good partner/friend etc for some reason) so it’s just been a bit of a downward spiral.

Then just now I got news one of my cousins passed by suicide. I hadn’t seen him since I was a kind and he memories are fuzzy but I what i DO remember is having fun with him and his brother....so I’m kind of in a state of shock and numbness and pain all at the same time somehow. I’m not sure if I’m going in to work tomorrow or not and I’m not sure if I’m gonna be here or not to try and keep my mind off things. Too much just feels like it’s going to shit and I am just Not Okay.

BUT I don’t want any of you to worry. I won’t be doing anything. I won’t be meeting the same fate nor will I be hurting myself in any way. I promise I will be okay eventually, I’m just trying to figure out the best way to take care of myself right now. ]]

Nodding at Neff’s words, didn’t seem right to him but if she was fine with it he’d let it go for now. Make it up to her later perhaps. “Free sample or trial, sounds good.” Chuckles a bit. “Are you the saleswoman then?” He was teasing, but couldn’t deny he was curious about the face masks and her routine in general. The coffee mask still sounded both odd and interesting to him but he didn’t mind so much she didn’t have it. 

“I’ll probably look it up later, given how it goes now.” Tilting his head as she spoke, so it did smell like coffee then. “So.. would that mean your face would smell like coffee to? It sounds interesting.. coffee mask, don’t drink it, slap it on your face and it will wake you up all the same.” He couldn’t help but keep smiling at this, it sounded so funny to him yet knew this was something others used. “It’s fine though, I’ll use one of whatever you have here..” Still wanted to pay her for it, if not with cash then with someone else. She was giving up her items to allow him to use and test out, she didn’t have to. Could have easily said no, and he wouldn’t have blamed her for it either. 

Watching Neff walk a moment he looked over more of her things, oils, lip balm, masks, perfume. These were interesting and dainty, men’s items weren’t this cute and smelled nice. Didn’t seem fair, then again who said a guy couldn’t get the feminine cute stuff either. Looking up as she returned with the jar of eye masks he stared at it curiously. “Do these go.. under the.. masks?” Holds up a package. “Or.. on their own?” Felt a bit stupid but these were new to him. “Can I try that too..” Staring at the jar he was curious before reaching up under his eye. “Around here, right?” 

“Sure, we can call it that! I’m pitching samples to you to see if you’d be interested in purchasing these products.”

A cute little comparison and one not at all wrong. She really was trying to help him see the benefits of these products and what it could do for him, the only difference is she wasn’t the one making any profit off of it. 

“Um, it will and it won’t. It’s not a strong scent that stays on your skill the whole day or anything like that. It’s more like while you’re washing your face with the scrub you smell it and it’s supposed to help energize you. It’s not made with liquid coffee as much as it is the grounds to be used as an exfoliant. It‘s supposed to scrub away any dead and damaged skin to smooth it out, but if course you don’t wanna bee too rough with it and end up hurting yourself in the process. People sometimes get a little too aggressive with exfoliants and end up irritating and damaging their skin more in the process.” She gently raises a hand. “It’s me. I’m ‘people’. Or at least I used to be, so take my advice.”

And now comes more information on the masks.

“These eye ones go solo, so you wouldn’t put them under or over any other masks. The reason I recommended these to you is because they’re the most hassle-free skincare you could use. It doesn’t limit your face movement as much as a full face mask would, and it’s not so time consuming. You literally just slap them under your eyes and do whatever you want for about twenty minutes and then take them off. Being able to multitask while having it on is a plus, cause with a full face sheet mask you can’t do much. Those have a habit of sliding off your face since they’re so wet, so you kinda gotta put it on and stay still until time is up. Same with clay masks - they go on wet but dry up and make your face all stiff so you can’t like...eat or drink with them on. Eye patch masks though? Probably best and easiest starter item.”

“Oh, don’t get me started! I get spooked easily and those videos had really got the jump on me when I first saw them!”

Pari let out a chuckle then, granted she was often the easily spooked type in certain situations but she’d felt safe with disclosing it to Neff.

“Yeah, for sure.. but for the most part it’ll be cats and memes. I’m pretty much all about that sort of thing. It’s all good and I’ll definitely be sure to ask.”

"Honestly I wouldn't mind watching spooky things with you in person if we were to like... hang out and stuff. I definitely do better with that with company because it's easier to feel safer with someone else present, y'know?"

It's another offer - one Neff doesn't at all mind giving to her so early on. Pari seems really chill, open minded, and understanding. Like someone she could probably call on to go on any type of adventure and even if it sucked they could still find a way to make the best out of it.

"Sounds like a plan though! I'm honestly really excited to introduce someone to these things. It's hard to know when someone would be interested in it or not and nothing sucks more than having an idea shot down when you're excited about it."

 This woman…

 It wasn’t so much that she was making thing difficult… … it was just starting to get a little warm… and hard to breathe.

 The power Goddess Nefeloma held over calamity incarnate was otherworldly. The simple touch of her soft lips was enough to have his face burning like a thousand suns. He couldn’t remember the last time a woman (or really anyone aside from Dazai) had him feeling as weak as a boy with his first high school crush. A breathy sound escapes his throat much to his chagrin making embarrassment boil further in the pit of his stomach. But Chuuya was never one to back down from a challenge, or let shame get the better of him. He would not be bested.  “ Not on yer life girlie. “ He says with a playful lilt. Swiftly he pulls Nef away from his neck, only to capture her lips in a passionate kiss. He wastes no time in sliding his tongue out along her bottom lip just to tease. Calamity would not admit defeat without putting up at least a bit of a fight. “ I could do this all day darlin’. If ya still wanna bite I’m sure I could handle a little more fang.”

Unexpected, but certainly not unwanted. The instant lips meet hers she finds herself leaning into him and returning the kiss. Fingers play with strands of fiery locks around his face, a smirk forming on hers when he pulls away.

"Maybe I want both~"

She dips back in, claiming lips once more with vigor. The taste on his tongue was bittersweet but one she'd not mind having again. After having her fill it's then that she returns to that same spot on his neck, biting down a bit harder and sucking on the skin - she wants to leave a mark. Today will be the day she makes her claim on his skin, confessing feelings unspoken in ways she didn't think she'd ever be able to.

"Or maybe....I just want you. Maybe that’s always been what I’ve wanted most. Surely you knew my playing hard-to-get was exactly that. Playing. Or maybe I just thought I didn’t deserve you....” She sighs. “Either way....if you truly believe that I’m what you want, too, well you already have me.”

Kare has always been lead to believe he’s a danger to others, such makes it hard to create a strong bond. He hoped this training would help with those issues.

Grant him a path forward.

He’s so busy with his thoughts again that he doesn’t even speak much on their journey. He simply glanced at her a few times, trying to ease his nerves and enjoy the walk instead.

He threw her an uncertain smile as he sat down.

“I don’t think you should worry about hurting me. Actually, it’s better if you do bring any holy symbols or items with you. That would make me feel better as well…”

A chuckle escaped him. That sounds bad already, but it is what will help her if it does not go to plan.

“Though if you could cover them up that would be great…”

His demonic blood makes him freeze when such objects are in his view– Fear that makes no sense, but still spreading through his body. 

......sigh.

Neff stops in her tracks and turns back around to face his face in her hands.

"Look at me and hear my words. A word of advice? Part of being in control is believing in yourself. If you don't think you're strong enough? Then you won't be. But, if you truly don't want to hurt me when that blood of yours starts to take control - you fight. You fight, and you win. Take it from someone who has no self esteem most times. When people rely on what I do....I believe I can get it done for their sake. You can, too. That'll be the first step in your training - believing in yourself. "

She releases him from her hold, giving a single nod just to support what she just said.

"Sorry for grabbing you like that. When I get too into things my way of making sure people hear me is direct eye contact. It's a bad habit I need to break out of cause I know not everyone likes to be touched. If I get out of hand don't be afraid to tell me."

And then she finally goes to pack for the week. It takes her some time but mostly because she was double and triple checking she had everything she needed. Once she's certain she returns to him and nods.

"Okay. We're set."

“Feel free to refer to me as ‘Oh Beautiful Master of Time’ in return,” he joked.

Sevren is just as much of a trickster back, and he fully enjoys those who join in on his little games.

“You have such faith in me already.”

He learned back into his palm with a wink.

“You can make my job much easier. So many people have a path that could end humanity, many intertwine. I have prevented many from falling into evil since I came into being…”

“But I do have my limits. I could gain more knowledge of who to seek out with your help. And when to see them. Some are more important than others for the sake of the future.”

He’s known many bad outcomes, more than he would like. Even if he travelled back to prevent them, the memory will always linger with him.

.....oh. he didn't realize the type of trouble she meant. That's okay. It'll be fun to throw him for a loop. A time loop.

Ah. So that's the idea he had in mind. She won't lie, it's a clever and fairly well thought out one - their abilities indeed aligned and worked well as he claimed they would. There was just one little problem...

"I, too, have my limits. I'm a demigod.... and a recently turned one at that. I'm still learning all that I'm capable of, so I'm not even sure if I can narrow it down to pinpointing specific individuals that may greatly alter the future."

"However...I can give you my word that I'll at least try. I'll see what theories and practices I can come up with that could lead us in that direction. How does that sound?”

 “…” Okay, so maybe Chuuya didn’t expect Nef to take him up on his offer. If there was one thing that flustered the suave mafioso, it was flirting back twice as hard. Breath hitches in his throat as teeth find the sensitive area just above his choker.  “C– careful there darlin’.” Chuuya says with a breathy gasp. He is stiff as a board beneath the soft ministrations, face red as a tomato.

“Mm?~” Her hum vibrates against his skin, pulling back only just enough to turn his face towards hers and keep eye contact. She likes that look on his face. Fingers trace from his chin down the front of his neck to his collarbones, finally settling on the surface of the exposed part of his chest.

“Sorry, am I making things hard?~”
