the word nervous hadn’t been in pietro’s vocabulary for years. maybe it would’ve been, in the future, but if he had the chance to start over, the perfect time seemed to be brewing (of course, a woman was involved.) if he hadn’t been an obvious flirt with darcy before, he was pretty assured that saving her from a couple of supervillains - and then kissing her as a result - was enough to cement ‘i really like you’, in her brain. maybe it was a little dramatic to walk up to stark tower, but he did anyway, and of course without a plan. ‘darcy?’

he wishes he could pretend to be as exhausted as the rest of them, but there’s a lot of benefits to super speed, he guesses helping is one of them. ‘smoothies do sound good, however, i think i may need to tie up some loose ends...’ a grin forms on his face, ‘unless... i get them.’

‘it’s weird, isn’t it?’ she muses, putting the pink plait behind her back, ‘that what... let’s say, tony, thinks is retro, is probably like, eons behind us? then we come in, and think when he was forty, that was behind the times...’

was it possible for matthew to be jealous of himself? it must be, because he felt as if his whole face was turning green. any compliment from marie, however, could turn him right around. “i couldn’t disappoint.” he says with a smile, “i just saved some lives, and now we’re goin’ to some kinda comic fair... in the city of all places... i’d think i’m dazzlin’ you.”

“no,” he says simply, even though he’s blatantly lying. something about the truth and strangers never seem to mix, especially with venom always trying to gain control, “actually, barely a fan of people, or crowds for that matter.”

Observing her surroundings is like second nature now to Karen. There was a time when she’d been unassuming, but she wasn’t that girl anymore. She wasn’t the victim. Meeting the eyes of the man she’d ran into, she smiled politely. “I’m a journalist. Always looking for a story. A new lead. This kind of stuff never gets boring.” 

this was getting more interesting by the minute. eddie knows he doesn’t stay on the scene much anymore, but he’s still interested in finding the story... the one that would’ve taken his career into the clouds. “i used to be... so i know what you mean, just some of these people aren’t gonna appreciate ya.”

“he’s also ugly.” rose replies, “looks aren’t everything, but with a name like facebook, he’d be the guy with an anime avatar.”

karolina was someone megan was never going to figure out... and that was probably a good thing. she seemed uncomfortable with any basic sort of affection, compliments included, so it wasn’t like megan could be outwardly nice to her, even if they were both mutants. “if you have something against fae, you can just say it to my face,” she says easily, “though i didn’t expect you of all people to be prejudiced.”

“eh i’ve got one too,” alison says, sure that her card would probably decline after all of the items she deemed necessary to perform at the festival, but a bedazzled microphone was an absolute must. “we’ve got to get some new towels, and definitely a bigger tv... maybe even some new pillows...”

This was the perfect place to observe others and possibly get an exclusive interview or two. There were plenty of interesting people to pick from. She wasn’t watching where she was going when she ran head on into someone else. “I’m sorry! I wasn’t looking where I was going. Probably should have been focusing on walking, not observing.”
