especially if he’s actually admitting that he’s tired. now that’s something she never thought would happen. and it’s something that concerns her a bit more than she’d like to admit.

with languid movements they gently tuck a flower behind her ear, the petals a little crushed from it being tucked into their pocket for a few hours. "saw it and thought of you," cillian mumbles as they look away from bell, trying to distract already from the action.

the question slips from her mouth unfinished, the confusion at the feeling of their hand suddenly against her head washed away once her fingers brush against the soft petals resting against her hair. a burst of warmth swells in her chest and bell glances towards cillian, surprise curling the corners of her mouth into a sweet smile — and it only grows once she notices the uncharacteristic bashfulness in their posture. it’s cute. she doesn’t want to embarrass cillian more than they clearly already are, but it’s really cute.
she brushes her thumb against the petal once more ( she can’t see it, and there’s no way she’s going to take it out to look at it right after they just put it there, but she can’t help but wonder what the flower looks like ) before she drops her hand back to her side, reaching for theirs instead.
