Growing up with the expectation that she’s going to die soon is a special, specific, atypical lifestyle whose kind has only ever been experienced by Ava Starr. She’s unique in that way. It isn’t a blessing.

She’s grown up so close with death that it’s like a shadow or close like a brother. So close that Ava’s able to recognize its voice second to her own. It’s the little devil perched on her shoulder with the cuffs of his pants backstitched to her shirts.

Indeed, Ava never thought she would live this long. It’s astonishing. It’s alarming. It’s exhilarating.

She’s never considered, gradually stopped entertaining the idea of a life beyond her predetermined expiration date: Not a life, not a house, not a retirement, nor a soulmate.

...She has no idea what to do with her life, now that she has one.

(And so, when she meets her soulmate years later, she’s beyond perplexed.)

Same anon as before. to answer your question, literally all of it but especially the soulmates au makes me have feelings. whenever I see you’ve updated anything Sarah/Bucky I go ❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️ and drop everything to read 💕 it’s a small fandom but I feel unreasonably strongly about it and if canon never happens I may cry but at least I’ve got the fic to comfort me

I can answer exactly that the reincarnation/soulmate au started from a prompt, and the expansion of LFTSL is inspired by a book I just finished reading
