         at home , it’s a bit of an odd situation where if the kids ( which includes everyone at this point ) are lively , he’ll wish for them to give him some peace of mind ( doing nothing honestly ) , but if the house is quiet , he can’t help but want to see what they’re up to . he enjoys silence , but he’s used to the noise .

         when it comes to outsiders however , it probably depends more on the content of the noise . if it’s useful to him at the moment , he won’t mind it , might even let his mind tune in to it for a while , but if it’s just pointless boisterousness , he’ll usually be somewhat ticked off . what a grandpa .

         oh . had he been too conspicuous about it ? watching the other bob his head to the song he was listening to in his earbuds , seeming like he was the only one enjoying himself among the other bored passengers waiting for their stop , Kai himself included .

         it was awkward . so awkward that instead of properly wording a polite rejection , he took the offered earbud and put it on before he realised what he should have done . a familiar song played in his ear , but where did he hear it from ...

         ... a video . that one vlogger he kept seeing on social media , who loved using this song as background music lately . “ GLASSHEARTEDGAMER ... was it ? ” it was a question meant to be heard by only himself , of course , to remind himself to look it up , but he might have underestimated his voice over the tune .

//  Though Hideki had been over countless times, he hardly every took a good look at the place other than the kitchen. Lei was quite simplistic in how he decorated his home… but that just meant that it was easier to clean in Hideki’s eyes.   Taking a break from the dusting, he caught sight of a familiar spine, looking the same as when he had last saw it. Forgetting to ask, he opened the book and a smile broke free on his features. How nostalgic. It had been almost eight years since high school finished and he hadn’t seen anyone in this book for quite some time. In fact… Lei was the longest and the only person who he still kept an effort to keep in touch.    He moved his gaze behind him, having to look up to meet the other’s eyes. Such a difference in height was always the case, but it seemed Lei had only grown taller since eight years ago while he remained. 

   “ Shall we go then? ”

         a question posed the same way many years back , the same way it still made the corner of his lips curve upwards despite himself , the nostalgia of walking side by side , Hideki’s voice loud and clear amidst hazy memories . things were simpler back then , but with the other , there always was this nostalgia of similarity to such times , something he was thankful for if he did not show it enough .

         Lei tilted his head a little in silent agreement , before excusing himself to change and retrieve the key to his bike . he did figure the car would be more comfortable , but it wasn’t exactly his , used only to drive the young heir he served around because Mo trusted no one else to do it . a tad flashy , and if possible , he’d always wished to keep Hideki as far from his work as he could .

a  small  smile  played  at  his  lips  at  the  other’s  lazy  little  groan ,   unable  to  help  but  agree  with  it’s  obvious  reluctance .   he  didn’t  mind  mornings ,   especially  not  when  they  were  so  peaceful  and  cozy ,   but  that  didn’t  mean  he  was  in  any  rush  to  leave  the  warmth  of  their  nest .   the  arm  draped  over  his  waist  only  added  to  that  warm ,   fuzzy  feeling  as  it  drew  him  in  closer ,   chest  to  chest  beneath  the  downy  bedding  surrounding  them .   his  face  was  tucked  against  his  neck  as  he  nuzzled  up  against  him ,   the  action  so  soft  and  cute  and  utterly  unlike  a  fully  awake  kai  that  he   knew   he  would  deny  it  if  ever  mentioned . breathing  deeply  the  scent  of  his  lover ,   he  hummed  softly  in  response ,   ‘  we  could  call  off ,   spend  the  whole  day  in  bed  together .  ’   it  was  a  playful  suggestion ,   one  he  fully  expected  to  be  shot  down  rather  than  be  taken  seriously .   however ,   that  didn’t  stop  him  with  secretly  wishing  for  such  a  day .

        “ mmh , ” another lazy sound from the pink-haired , his eyes closed still as he snuggled up against the other , almost like he was trying to mould the two of them together , anything to fully convince Suga to go through with his words . mornings like this were always hard to part with , his boyfriend was always hard to part with , but as if he was going to let it be known out loud when some things were always easier shown , not requiring words to be heard .

        like the grumble of his stomach .
