we watched it on the unofficial streaming out of curiosity and one thing I did not expect was for the chip and dale movie to be about an illegal trafficking ring that surgically alters victims and sells their leftover body parts
The whole movie is as you likely suspected an extremely awkward mess of pseudo-edginess, shameless Disney autofellation and gratuitous metahumor that wants to be schlocky and controversial on purpose, hoping you’ll forget it’s an actual corporate Disney film if it hides behind enough self-deprecating irony. It has some moments that are funny as intended, and some clever ideas about how CG characters, puppets and drawings fit into the same world, but it’s mostly just “interesting” for the sheer spectacle of a movie that could truly only ever have been pitched and greenlit in the dying rotting pop culture hellscape we’ve all found ourselves in.
This man really made a living doing that and then the show ended and now he makes a living doing the exact same thing but with different effects for the random hand movements
I've been working on Komet's design every now and then because I haven't been too happy with it. Now that I believe I've got it nailed down, I did a little doodle of my boy to show him off! Hopefully I'll have a new ref for him soon.
