Regarding Maverick Hunter, I’m definitely considering cyborg. Maybe there was an incident involving a Maverick left him pretty damaged, so now he’s like mostly armor. Figure it’d fit, since I’m pretty sure there’s no other way to explain him having the powers of literally Satan in Mega Man’s canon.

Slayer doesn’t know why shotguns are being grabbed, but he’s watching with interest.

William wasn’t exactly too sure what to do. He was already bad enough with his own emotions, now there were overly emotional demons before his eyes. 

Now if only he knew what he could to do help the situation. Maybe it’s just best to let things simmer.

Anxiety is rough, we all have it in some way so let’s just make things easier by making noises at each other! Let’s beat back that anxiety for a good time!

The drunk Slayer was able to process what was being said, but only just. Kahann was right about one thing though; it sure as Hell wasn’t an answer that William took too well. It clearly only infuriated him even more, but he seemed to manage to reign himself in, if only to not try and rush the Primeval before him with a knife.

He did know that Kahann wasn’t as guilty as his drunk mind was leading him to believe, and he knew it didn’t help to lash out at him. He was right, with how Davoth is it was an inevitability. Chances are that if it wasn’t him in this position, it would end up as someone else, meaning that the suffering would happen regardless.

Then comes the question of the cage. He soon stops, before he finally collapses into his computer chair. He’s silent as he rips off his helmet, throwing it off and onto the ground. 

“I miss them all... not just Daisy, but my family... my friends... wife, child, brothers in arms... I’m the only one left now, and not even the man I used to be. I miss myself, Kahann... I don’t even know who I am anymore. I barely remember who I was.”

This, quite frankly, would be why Kahann refused to indulge. Such intoxication would have driven him into a stupor too, on top of babbling nonsense, and if worsened, dragging oneself in harm’s way.

The Doom Slayer was still man– And mankind has its ups and downs. Flaws. Ones where most of his people were barely ever able to see past that surface of glory.

What hit him wasn’t that bottle– It obviously missed, and made a mess. The words that came out of the Slayer, however…

Why did they have to die? Why me? Why my family?

In all honesty though, the same applied to him. Gweneth, most of his in-laws… Feoran is all that’s left– The eldest of the dead woman’s family. Speaking of, she had lived her life as a hermit for so long, unrecognized by the rest of the Sentinels. And like him, she had to see Argent D’nur fall.

His gaze also focused on the opened cage. Did the Slayer hallucinate again? He knew that he had a pet from eons ago, that had met a gruesome fate when Hell first invaded Earth. A rabbit named Daisy.

Was the Slayer also hallucinating her in the middle of the 

“…You’re asking someone who wasn’t there when your family died.” The Primeval sighed. He knew his words would upset the Slayer, whether it was anger directed to him, or a potential breakdown. Or both.

“You know accusing someone unrelated to an incident that happened eons back doesn’t help, but of course you’re terribly drunk. I’ll just be stuck with dealing with whatever else you throw at me right now.” At this rate, he’d not bother with slipping any pun. This was no laughing matter.

“You know what? I’ll answer. Neither of what I say you’ll like, but since you asked…” He looked at the Slayer, in his rather pitiful state. “There are some things that are meant to happen and that there won’t be anything anyone can do about once it hits. Whether it be something as simple as running down a fever, to the most complex of grief, such as losing someone, or something you care about.”

“That, and there are creatures who appreciate the life of others even less than dirt. You’ve seen what he’s done. You’ve seen what they’ve done. They’re just as everywhere as everyone else is. Such is life– Unfair or otherwise.” He added. “But there are STILL those who appreciate their own lives and the lives of others– Some who would even fight for it– Die on a hill for that if they could too, even if they’re not on your level.”

“There is time and place for grieving, but you look like a downed madarkor, not going to lie.” Kahann hated to admit it, but he was not too good at dealing with hangovers. Then again, he did have a similar experience with this man’s ancestor once…

Again, a gaze at the cage, and then back to the Slayer. “…Still miss her?” 

Slayer starter call! Anyone wanna interact with the brute? Especially now that he’s not drunk anymore? lmao

As Kahann enters the room, an empty bottle of booze hits the wall and shatters, the last few drops painting the wall. Drunk and stumbling, the once great Slayer is pacing around the room. Though he’s barely understandable throughout the whole ordeal, it’s clear he’s thinking about Daisy again, given how the rabbit cage, normally empty and on the floor, is both on his desk as well as open. 

The bottle, it seems, wasn’t exactly just a random throw either. He was clearly aiming for Kahann, staring him down as he tries to keep his head up.

“...Why did they have to die?” he asks, drunkenly and cold, as if accusing Kahann of the deed. “Why me? Why my family?”

Deep down he understood that Kahann wasn’t responsible, and was more than aware that there was little that could be done. Some piece of him however, the one clearly floating to the surface atop a lake of whiskey, the one that he knew was unreasonable, felt that if anyone was just as responsible as Davoth, it was his twin brother, another one of those damn Primevals.

Oof... Finn didn't know much about this guy's past, but these few laments were revealing enough of the horrors he'd gone through. He took a small blanket out of his backpack and draped it over the other's shoulders in an attempt to comfort him - though it barely covered his large frame, and Finn had to stand on his tiptoes to even reach that high despite him being in a sitting position. "I'm sorry, man."

He barely notices the blanket at first, but hearing Finn he looks up. “...Thanks.” he grumbles. “...I’m just... not feeling fantastic tonight, I guess. Old demons coming back to haunt me... demons I’ve tried drowning for years. Nothing comes of it, so I always just come back here... now I’m just making it everyone else’s issue, I guess.”

He lifts his helmet up to take another drink, but he stops before the bottle reaches his lips, setting it down on the desk... a bit too hard, as the bottle shatters as a result.

“...I’ll clean that later.”
