Music festival sponsored by SPIN Magazine and BF Goodrich Tires, when ‘electronica’ was being pushed as the next big thing by various magazines and record companies. The lineup included Arkana, The Crystal Method, Fluke, and GusGus.

‘Maria’ concept bike by Ishii Tatsuya (1999)

“Musician, artist, event producer, and designer. Ishii Tatsuya’s incredible concept bike was created for his production of the 1999 Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Road Race. Named "Maria”, (after the robot temptress in Fritz Lang’s Metropolis we can only assume) the all chrome bike was complete with a fully costumed woman rider. The fate of the amazing Maria after her debut event remains unknown.“

‘y2ksk8board’ by William Bottini (2019)

“I created this custom skateboard deck, I call it the y2sk8board. Inspired by Windows Media Player skins and year 2000 techno utopianism, it is the ultimate “mobile device.” This is the only skateboard with a skip-proof, MP3-compatible CD-RW player, a custom 64MB MP3 player, Digital Dynamic Bass Boost Technology, a 10-band equalizer, aux and mic inputs, a media visualization system, Gameboy controls, video phone AND wheels. It runs on skate-power and it supports DSL. Let me know what you think, I had a lot of fun creating this entirely in Photoshop using only the effects and layer styles available 20 years ago.”
