...it was quite interesting to see who went to sit with who... there were some typical things, like Lando and Carlos, kind of navigated towards each other
Because they aren’t sabotaging anyone. Come on anyone with some thinking could see that, they aren’t stupid or evil, why would they do that?
Dan had some bad luck recently, that’s for sure, but things like PU problem or red flag timing etc, it’s not anyone’s fault (if anything, the Imola bad result was his fault, he ruined both him and Carlos’ race). Lando also had a lot of bad luck at the end of last year, 3 tyre punctures in 4 races, the only race he didn’t have a puncture he got very screwed by red flag. That’s just part of motorsport, it could happen to anyone
as a non mclaren fan seeing ppl say mclaren are sabotaging dan, why? they have absolutely nothing to gain if they are cos they aren’t in the championship battle atm unlike when ferrari did that in 2004 w schumacher n barrichello
like if they were surely it would be a much bigger issue with idk the media picking up on it??
The correct way in Chinese is Zhou Guanyu, written in Chinese as 周(Zhou)冠(Guan)宇(Yu), Zhou being the family name. That’s why he apparently asked F1 to say in this order as well. However I don’t think he’d mind if people call him Guanyu Zhou, it’s the western way and he’d understand/ get used to it. In China people don’t address others using only first name (in his case, Guanyu) very often, but it’s still ok to do so; it’s more common to address by last name, Chinese fans call him 小周 (pronounced as Xiao-Zhou) meaning “Little Zhou” to show affection (kinda like Brazilian fans calling Lando “Landinho” to show love), if you are older than him, or 老周 (pronounced as Lao-Zhou) meaning “old Zhou” (lol) if you are younger than him. The “old Zhou” one also has a meaning of respect for someone older/highly skilled in something.
Do you know how to write Guanyu Zhou right? Is it that way or Zhou Guanyu and if you just want to use one name is it Guanyu or Zhou? I'm honestly not sure and desperately want to do it correctly and not offend anyone
I’m not sure and it’s something that I need to look into a bit more.
Going off of what he’s asked F1 media to do, and how he’s recently restructured his social media handles it should be Zhou Guanyu, so that’s what I will try to use.
Zhou is his family name, and that’s what is used on the timing screens, so I would assume that it’s similar to saying Hamilton, Verstappen, etc.
However I would really appreciate some clarity just to make sure I say/write things the correct way, so if anyone can help, thank you.
I believe Zhou Guanyu would be a correct order in Chinese, but we are all used to Western "firstname lastname", so I guess it's okay to use Guanyu Zhou instead. I don't think for example Zsolt Baumgartner would be (or was) listed as Baumgartner Zsolt anywhere in international sport event either even though that would be a correct name order in Hungarian.
also, since we always mention drivers by their first name like, lando, carlos, etc, it's supposed to be Guanyu then. but someone told me, he doesn't mind being called Zhou as a respect for his family.
Now I need more background information. Did Lando and Daniel properly meet in 2014 at the prize giving? Did Daniel already tease him back then? Was Lando a massive fanboy? Did Adam ask Daniel to take a picture with his son like he did with Seb? I need answers 🥴
