A thought i can’t get out of my head is that when Izzy says “whatever you’ve become, this is a fate worse than death” in episode 10, he really meant it. And not in an overly cruel way either, to Izzy, Blackbeard is a legend, a symbol that the very sight of can make whole ships surrender in fear. Ed enjoying being himself, being open with his crew, singing and grieving and living and being happy? That kills his legend, because then people will see that as what Blackbeard became, a beautiful thing defiled. Izzy cares about Blackbeard, and Blackbeard’s legend would be better off if Ed died rather than taint the ending of it with his own happiness.

unfortunately,  they don’t share blit.zo’s appreciation for these Majestic Beasts.  they try to play it cool,  but horses make them anxious.  always have.  they left much of the labor to blit.zo when they were given stable chores  &  opted for doing what they could with at least an arms-length of distance between themselves  &  any of the circus’ horses.  they’d always let blit.zo lead  &  stay behind him,  because best friends make the best shields against horse bites,  or whatever other manner of attack these things have.

they’re more comfortable with the lumbering,  larger breeds ;  clydesdales  &  shires,  draft horses.  working breeds rather than the more nimble show breeds blit.zo  &  tilla were always so good at handling.

now they’re older,  they still avoid the things.  they’re very aloof around them  &  it’s really,  really obvious they don’t want to be anywhere near these animals.  they still don’t know how to ride one correctly.

Jude continued to rapidly press the call button in frustration, hoping that by some miracle it would finally suddenly work, but it didn’t matter how many times she did it, she knew it was a lost cause. Letting out a breath, her eyes rolled, staying silent as she continued with the button for a little longer. Finally giving up, she turned away from it to lean against the wall, her lips pressing together as her eyes trailed over to Ryan. “Well, unless you plan on using the escape hatch,” she spoke as she pointed up towards the ceiling. “And climbing the elevator shaft, then looks like it, babe. Don’t get too excited now,” sarcasm clearly lingering in her tone.  @ohdcrlin​

Ryan sank to the floor and flicked the lighter on, watching the fire as Jude continued with the button. She wondered for a moment if the other woman might be claustrophobic, then she realized that she didn’t care. Her eyes moved back to the fire until Jude gave up and spoke to her. “Pretty sure people only actually do that kind of shit on TV.” She said, letting the fire go out. “And don’t call me babe.”
