This obsession with wanting to outdress/outshine the birthday girl and the bride:

The birthday girl or bride is entitled to enforce a dress code and expect attending guests to follow it. Real simple. If you don’t like it then don’t show up.

For the ones that claim they would be happy if their friend showed up and wore the same outfit or color despite the dress code....that’s good...for YOU. However, to others the dress code was established for a reason and to some it’s bad form to show up going against it. Reading and listening is fundamental! One thing about it. If it’s MY day it’s MY day. If it’s YOUR day it’s YOUR day.

When you intentionally show up trying to out do somebody on their day (when you could have stayed home) it really don’t matter how great your outfit looks because your spirit is hideous. You weren’t a friend in the first place.

Women please be better friends to other women. Don’t let a dress code ruin a friendship.
