she always looks so grumpy when she wakes up from a nap
Ā Ā My husband and son are away at a biking event in New Jersey. My daughter will go after school to a friendās house for the weekend. Iāve been looking forward to the quiet time for a while now.
Ā Ā So the Eldest cat turned up with a swelling on her face that clearly needs to be looked at right away. We noticed it for the first time yesterday evening, and itās substantially worse this morning. Soooo Iām heading out to the vetās office this morning instead of relaxing. This truly doesnāt look good for her. Sheās 16 yrs old as of April, and she had a senior health checkup earlier this yr that was excellent. Sometimes animals around the farm do really, really well* and then go downhill bizarrely fast.
* Probably because they get a lot of exercise and a top-notch diet
he has either fallen asleep with his eyes open or he's in some sort of fugue state. who knows
I stop to let him explore and he sits down and begins to sun himself instead.
Viktor does a great āvampire in an invisible coffinā impression, donāt you think?
Instead of writing, today I assembled a mini cat tree directly in front of the bird feeder that squirrels love to frequent. Khoshekh gets the idea lmao
TW animal illness/distress
my sweet perfect little daughter had to be rushed to the vet ER last night because she couldnāt breathe, she was panting and lethargic and we thought oh no, she must have something lodged in her throat
but she didnt
every vet sheās ever been to has said she was healthy but now all of a sudden shes got severe heart disease, congenital heart failure, fluid in and around her lungs, and im
im
she was there overnight. shes home now, still a little zooted from the sedatives, a little shaved patch on her side where they did the ultrasound, a cute little pink bandage on her arm from where they stuck in the IV
im gonna call cardiologists this afternoon. shes on medication every 12 hours, might end up on more meds, different meds, any treatment that could work, but the paperwork says all we can do is extend her life, slow the disease
my cat. my perfect little girl. she lays on my pillow at night and licks my hair. she yells loudly while playing with the little stuffed toys i buy for her. she sits on the counter and rubs against my chest while i get ready in the morning. shes only six years old.
i dont know how to deal with this.
Luna has been enjoying Gideon going outside almost more than he does, she gets to lounge in the shade with one of her cats and one of her people which as far as she's concerned is the best thing ever. Gideon meanwhile sniffs around and chews on some grass his leash is attached to a pole that gives him enough room to have access to shade and sunlight without being able to get himself into trouble or tangled on anything.
