"I received a heavy fine, but it failed to crush my spirit."
They were planning to fill in a pond in which a large salamander had lived for decades, and Clara was not taking that lying down!!!!!
So she tied herself to a tree for 12 straight hours, threatening to starve to death if they went through with it.
She'd just been released from a holding cell that morning.
Fanart inspired by Hades (the Nine Stages of Change at the Deceased Remains) - My Dead Girlfriend
Outback NSW 2022. It’s desert, but there’s been a lot of rain. This is the Fort Grey basin ephemeral lake near its fullest. Very little bird life, maybe because there is so much water everywhere. The dead trees are from the preceding drought, not the current wet. There were hundreds of tree seedlings coming up to replace the dead.
This is not impressive at all without a before picture, but trust me when I say that this was covered in blackberries and rose brambles yesterday and it is starting to get cleared out now :3 I have a couple dead trees to cut down (and some invasive live trees to cut down) and then I get to tackle the spring. Which is even more overgrown and also muddy. That'll be fun!
Excerpt from this story from Treehugger:
Although warm weather and an urge to spring clean makes it seem like a good time to tackle the trees, there are plenty of reasons why you might want to wait.
One of the main reasons is to protect wildlife.
“The vast majority of wildlife (birds/mammals) rear their young in the spring when things are sprouting, blooming, insects are hatching, and there is a better food supply for offspring,” Glazebrook says. “The warmer days are also better for keeping eggs and newborns alive when busy parents have to seek out food and may need to leave offspring/young alone in the nest or den.”
According to PAWS Wildlife Center in the Puget Sound region of Washington state, which is home to many species that make their homes in trees.
“Trees and forests provide critical food sources, cover, and nesting sites for many of these wild species,” the center points out on its website. “Woodpeckers, cavity-nesting owls, squirrels, and bats take advantage of standing dead trees, and a multitude of birds grace the branches of still-living trees with their amazing and varied nests.”
The group receives hundreds of baby wild animals each year, many of which lost their homes when a tree was cut down.
“Please be aware that pruning or cutting down trees and hedges during the breeding season can and does displace, harm, or even kill wild animals.”
Even the sounds of tree work can be harmful to wildlife. The loud noise can keep animal parents from returning to their nests. The commotion can also keep them from feeding their offspring in a timely enough manner to keep them healthy and alive.
Declawing cats is immoral and it should be illegal everywhere
#1 There are Infection Signs
First, if you notice that the wood of your tree appears to be soft and crumbles easily, or perhaps, the bark has splinters or deep cracks, this indicates that the tree is probably infected. Other signs of infection include the appearance of woodpeckers. Woodpeckers eat the pests they find. Therefore, if your tree is full of them, something is going on.
#2 There are Large Dead Branches in your Tree
Since any loose branches can pose a safety hazard to anyone, constantly check your tree for any of the following signs. First, if you notice a buildup of large, dead branches at the top of your tree, this means that these branches will fall off in a matter of time. Then, it is best to start calling a Cape Coral tree service tree removal for you. It can be dangerous for your entire family. And you can't afford it.
#3 Your Tree is a Runt
If your tree has stopped growing, or many foliage shows a faded appearance or leaf-covered thing, your tree needs help.
#4 The Trunk is Hollow
As interesting as a hollow trunk can be, it is a sign that your tree needs to be removed. This can compromise the structure of your entire tree. Therefore, it's best to constantly be checking it, and try to do something if there's still time. Maybe it's time to hire a tree removal service.
#5 A Storm has Caused Damage
With a big storm, your tree can result in complete blowdown, stem failure, root failure, crown twisting, and many more. As you can see, not only is this a bad looking situation to see, but it also becomes a risk to you and your property. In that case, it is advisable to request tree removal or a tree pruning, depending on the overall situation.
#6 A Tree Crowding Situation
You may have your big tree that is the oldest and the largest. And you have decided to plant another type of tree in your yard, just to diversify your landscape. You can do that, but a tree crowding situation can occur. What is this? Well, when there are too many trees, they will start to compete for the nutrients and water they need to survive. And who will win and lose in this situation? Usually, the smaller ones will show signs of nutrient deficiency, because the larger ones will absorb them almost completely. Also, when overcrowding occurs, this can obstruct air circulation, and many fungal diseases can appear. This can infect almost all of your trees.
#7 Your Tree blocks You The View
Sometimes it can block the view of your house, which is inconvenient if you want to relax and see what's going on outside your house. In addition, because it also blocks your view, it can also cast too much shadow.
Suddenly, you find yourself with a dark house, especially during the winter months, and it's not a pleasant indoor environment. Similarly, when there is too much shade from a single tree, the lawn may not thrive during the summer. In this case, you may need to consider a tree trimming service in Cape Coral.
#8 Is dead
It happens that no matter how hard you try to take care of your tree, it is just simply the time for your tree to go. Cut it down! You can plant a new one!
#9 A Tree too Big
Well, this is not always a correct statement. It can happen that the tree starts to grow in restricted areas. And what happens with that? The tree can start pressing against windows, walls and even foundations. It can damage some of these structures, and perhaps, the building is at risk of falling down.
You may think that if you cut these branches or leaves, then that is enough to solve this problem. However, the tree will continue to grow and it is best to cut it down.

Whenever I see "blorbo from my shows" it makes me think about all the media I've barely if ever interacted with but I see my mutuals loving and so I have affection for these things I've never seen/read/played
@dvnities asked : " Bad luck relies on absolutely perfect timing. " ( kazzie )
🌿 “ 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 perfect timing if you’re the bad luck in question ? ” she volleys the sentiment back, a match of wits that will surely end in his victory, as it always does. ( she’s perfectly alright with it. there was no mind a match for ka.z brekker and andromeda has grown fond of watching people try and prove otherwise. she’s perfectly aware of her puny shadows in comparison to the monstrosities that linger behind him — their presence in ketterdam are invincible dogs that bite endlessly at heels without any bark. she almost finds them comforting, a promise that will never go stale. few share the sentiment. ) she clucks as he returns from the main salon, observing the cries of dismay as some drunken fool has surely just lost his night’s wages.
I spent april drawing my friends and i’s dnd characters as tarot cards and dare i say it? they fuck severely.
shout out to the mysterious sixth member who we know Nothing about beyond the fact that he’s represented by the fucking Tower
(check under the cut for character info and cards meaning)
Shardinë ‘Sardine’ / The Fool (new beginnings, innocence, spontaneity, free spirit)
She/her. A 19 year old fish person raised by an elderly fishmonger on an isolated island. This adventure is her first time leaving her grandmother, and somehow she’s the most competent of the five anyway.
Mercenaire / Seven of Wands (challenge, protection, perseverance)
He/him. A 38 year old one-armed mercenary with a protective streak a miles wide. Standing at 6′11 feet, he’s considered tiny for the clan of giant dragon worshipers from which he was banished. Believes himself to be cursed to bring bad luck and death to those who hear his name and see his face. Completely face blind. A dad and a friend!
Dukaan / The Tower (upheaval, chaos, disaster)
He/him, and that’s all we know
Ménéhyl of Stormwind / The Star (hope, faith, renewal)
She/her. 20 year old, yet the most naive of the group. Dreams of a fairy tale romance. The daughter of rich textile merchants from a hyper-religious queendom that abhors the very concept of death, she’s recently been revealed to have Death Magic, so you can imagine the kind of stress she’s under
Zarïa ‘Juvisy’ / Justice reversed (dishonesty, unaccountability, unfairness)
She/her. The 19 year old runaway princess of a recently overthrown kingdom. She’s vain, hates men, loves money, and is constantly running away from the consequences of her own actions, from lying about her real name to hiring Mercenaire to protect her and then sending guards after him when his price ended up too high and he took all her money. Currently spying on Oriû on behalf of people who would much rather see him dead.
Oriû, son of Galat / Judgement (judgement, rebirth, inner calling, absolution)
He/him. A 25 year old rebel from the people that Zarïa’s kind has been oppressing for over a century. A poet with a strong sense of right and wrong, he’d like to be nonviolent but will not stand idle in the face of injustice. The rebellion he’s a part of is directly responsible for the death of Zarïa’s family — but they’re not aware of that yet. Ménéhyl accidentally killed his brother with her newfound powers but he’s being a good sport about it.
I haven’t watched TWD -beyond an attempt I did where I think I got sidetracked by early s2? idk-, but sometimes I just get the urge to watch Michonne’s scenes, as one does.
🌿 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫, 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 like the ravkan queen loved the solstices and equinoxes and seasons — ravkans, better yet, the king’s army, knew it to be the queen’s love for a party above all else. andromeda cuts the thoughts short, knowing full well what a dangerous rabbit hole that trail could lead down. ( treason. treason. treason. the word sends a shudder down her spine. ) the spring equinox had to be met with celebration : the grand palace’s ballroom heavily lit by light and heavily perfumed by florals. why the second army is requested at these gatherings is beyond her. andromeda has caught her expression in the glass before : in a time less plagued, she would’ve loved a ball as elegant as this.
the want waxes in her chest, expanding until she forces herself out of the door onto the veranda. the pounding in her chest lessens, but surprise suspends her once more. she cools with distance from the crowd, posture regained in front of her commander. strange to see him among the petals and blossoms. “ the queen feels there is ill use of materialki besides — ” her head inclines toward the greenery inside : flowers over every inch of banister, plants draped from the ceiling, vines climbing climbing climbing over every inch of ballroom. andromeda almost rolls her eyes, recalling how the task had winded her. “ — my handiwork. the ballroom is a greenhouse right now. ” she observes the blooms beside him. “ do you like them ? ” / @egocrsh liked for a starter for aleksander the darkling.
