Getting off the train I removed my hat running my hand through my hair seeing everyone moving through the town in a quick fashion. I'm not used to dealing with the fast paced life since I'm just a farmer. "Y/n, get back here. Mama wants us to look presentable!" A woman's voice hollered through the streets making me turn around the direction seeing a girl breaking through the crowd shouting back over her shoulder. "I ain't listening to ma. She knows I despise those skirts - urgh!" Suddenly I got knocked on my back into the dirt by the girl since she wasn't looking where she was heading. Shaking my head I blinked a couple times to regain my focus on a young girl with her hair a mess. The girl stared at me deeply shaken up a bit herself from the impact. But I had to admit she wasn't bad to look at.
“Dang it! Just you wait until I tell mama that you are dirty, she’s gonna tan your hide Y/N Adams!” She says, looking at the cowboy in front of her before dragging her little sister away as she saw her mama and papa standing there “Mama, she is filthy, she can’t be a lady” Margaret says, clearly a lady and polite as she was raised better than rolling in the dirt and fooling around with low down cowboys who were no good and could cause trouble as she points at James and glares “you stay away and keep your filthy hands off of my baby sister, she doesn’t associate with the likes of your kind!”
Margaret dragged her little sister Y/n to me where I scoffed putting my hands on my hips scolding her. "Now I raised you to be better than a pig sty girl rolling in the mud, Y/n." Y/n dropped her hands at her sides arguing back. "But mama, I don't want to wear tight uncomfortable dresses!" Rolling my eyes I honestly don't see how she's my child sometimes. Margaret is exactly like me, how a lady should be and then there's Y/n who'd rather run around with the lowlifes. Y/n stomped her feet turning on her heels running off where Margaret almost goes after her but I scoffed stopping her. "Let her go. She'll come to her senses eventually."
Y/N had snuck out of the room, climbing out of the window as she hoped to find the cowboy she ran into early that night as she spots him sleeping in a tent as she grinned and nudged his foot as she watched him emerge from the tent with a smirk “Hey cowboy, I just wanna apologize and say that I am deeply sorry for running into you. Do you think it would be alright if we spend time together, maybe we can sit here and talk” She spoke to James, hoping that he would ask her to stay and not leave even when her parents, and her nosey sister woke up for breakfast but she could care less, because the handsome cowboy had her intrigued and she wanted to know more about him and who he was as a person, and how he came to end up in Texas as she braided her hair and watched him with crystal blue eyes that were full of excitement and the will to learn everything about him. “What’s your name Cowboy?” She says, not knowing his name so she just called him cowboy for the time being.
I get startled awake by someone kicking my foot in the middle of the night. Lifting my head up rubbing the sleep from my eyes I couldn't believe it was the girl who tackled me earlier. When she asks for my name I actually stuttered for probably the first time in my life. "Uh…James…James Dutton, ma'am…what's yours?" Sitting up more in my small tent she sits barely in the entrance, her hair now braided where I can see she's wearing a shirt and pants compared to the woman or should I say her sister she was with. "Y/n, Y/n Adams. So why are you out here in Texas?" Resting my hands on my knees I stared deeply at her before answering her question. "I wanna travel. See the world, that sort of thing." Y/n nodded until the wind blew from outside making her shiver. "Why don't you come inside tonight. I'd hate to be the cause of you catching a cold." She nodded her head crawling beside me underneath the covers, putting her back to me once she mumbled a thank you in her sleep.
Y/N was sleeping in the tent, snuggled up to James as she had her head resting on a pillow as she shivered and snuggled closer to him as her hair was in a messy braid as she was still sleeping but she was hoping that her sister was sleeping, and hadn’t noticed her leaving the room as she yawned and stretched as she sits up while watching James sleep because she knew that the cowboy had to be tired due to the traveling that he had been doing but she was gonna let him rest then maybe she could talk to him about his plans, perhaps she could go with him and get away from her parents, and overbearing sister who were constantly trying to tell her to be a lady, and not act less than a lady would, Y/N didn’t listen because she was a free spirited young lady, and she did as she pleased. “If I could stay here forever, with you, then I would gladly do so.” She whispered softly, her head resting on the side of the tent as she relaxed in the tent while letting him rest and recover from the trip.
Rubbing my eyes I could see the sun was starting to rise and I felt someone staring at me when I looked over. I saw the girl last night. "Morning, I thought you'd be long gone by now." I said through a yawn seeing her hair is a little messy. Y/n weakly smiled before hearing footsteps approaching where she threw the blanket over her head trying to hide. "What are you doing?" I asked to lift it up so I could see her face underneath. She mumbled hearing whoever it was get closer to the tent. "It's my sister, Margaret most likely." So that was the woman that called me a lowlife last night. She doesn't sound like any fin at all. Suddenly the tent gets flung open where I hold a hand up to block the light seeing the woman now glaring at us. "Ugh it's you. Where's my sister?" I shake my head trying to not smile but she tilts her head yanking the girl by her foot dragging her backwards. "Margaret no!" Y/n screamed like a child getting pulled up by her sister. "The next time I catch you with her I'll tie you down. Stay away from her you hear!"

Elsa Della Dutton and Dallas John Dutton. Two of his four grandchildren alongside Tate and Bree Dutton. Sitting on my horse early watching the sun rise from behind the mountains. The front door opened heating four different sets of feet hitting the wooden floor of the front porch. I see Kayce and Y/n following after them as their kids just jumped or played around with each other. It had been three years since the attack on the family so the twins were not infants anymore. Y/n picked up Elsa having the little girl's bright hair blow in the wind with Kayce picking up Dallas and giving him a piggyback ride. Bree and Tate headed for the barn to ride horses since they were tall enough to be on their own now. It scares me a little that his youngest granddaughter resembled his great aunt so much and she was only three years old. My only hope is that their dream was to keep the ranch alive.
Elsa was holding onto her father, looking for the perfect spot to build the yellowstone ranch as she winced in pain "Can we stop here, I think that I know where we should build it. Can we sit by that tree for a while, and just sit" She says softly, exhausted. Elsa had a wound that was not healing properly and she knew that it was infected "I just wanna rest here for a while daddy, just stay here and rest" She spoke softly, her eyes sullen and full of exhaustion as she was tired of fighting
He felt tears falling down his face watching his eldest child's eyes fall closed while her head lay in his lap. On this journey to Oregon he never intended to lose anyone in his family, especially his golden daughter. Removing his hat he throws it on the ground heavily crying for a few hours as birds flew above his head. Finally he got to his feet picking up a shovel picking up dirt until it was deep enough to bury her right by the tree they sat under. It was here that the Dutton cemetery would be created. Once he put the last bit of dirt over her he bent to a knee whispering as the wind blew. "Go see him, honey. Go find your love and enjoy your endless freedom.." Another horse rode up to him where he saw his wife get off her horse racing into his arms starting to cry once he wrapped his arms tightly around her.
Walking up to Kayce he smiled when all four grandchildren ran to hug me where I bent down hugging each of them individually. "I think it's time they go visit their ancestors, dad." Kayce spoke once I broke the hug with Dallas who has curly hair like his father. Y/n tucks hair behind her ear looking at her husband questioning. "The real cemetery, are you sure?" I had told Y/n that Evelyn and Lee were buried somewhere else. The stones may be off the back porch but it wasn't where any of the Dutton's laid to rest. "Grandpa, what are you talking about?" Little Elsa asked tugging my pant leg until I picked her up walking towards the barn, sitting her on the horse. Tate and Bree were riding somewhere else leaving me one on one with the twins. Y/n climbed on her horse with her leg that had a limp swaying a little when Kayce got behind her on the horse. Dallas is sitting on her lap as we ride out to a spot I couldn't go to without crying. The place that we first settled on in 1883.
Y/n and I bend down on a knee in front of the tree where my brother is buried. She rests a hand on my shoulder seeing tears filled in my eyes and most likely in her own as well. Dad helped the twins off the horses walking them over to where we stood. "Daddy, are you okay?" Dallas asked to see me crying so I wiped away the tears, shaking it off enough to tell them the importance of this place. "Yeah, son I'm fine. This place is just - it's a special place because this is the exact place where we settled years ago." Dallas and Elsa both sit down in the grass wanting to hear more, it didn't matter if they'd heard the story before or not they were always interested. "Sweetie you're extra special just like this place you know..." Y/n booped her nose with our daughter making her giggle. "Really!" I removed my hat sitting it on her head even though it's big on her so she moved it from her eyes. "You're named after the first Dutton girl to set foot on our land, Elsa. She was grandpa's great aunt. His great grandfather took his family west in search of Oregon. It was a difficult journey that she unfortunately only made it to step foot on here. Her spirit lives on this ranch just like your grandmother Evelyn and those who came between." Dallas raised his hand like he was in school bringing a smile to my face. "Will you and mommy be buried here? Will this be ours like you always say?" Y/n glanced back at my father then to our kids squeezing my hand in hers. "This valley is ours, bud. We won't ever lose it, that's a promise." Neither knew that John wasn't entirely sure that was true for much longer.

Request from coffer_bish on Wattpad. Elsa's sister falls for Ennis and she realizes she's pregnant.
Climbing on my horse I searched the camp seeing Ennis was down by the riverside. The wind blows my hair as I ride through the grass trying to rack my brain around what my papa would do to him once he knew. Papa had a rule that none of the boys riding with us were to fall for me or my sister Elsa. "Ennis, I gotta tell you something." I called out to him climbing down my horse wearing some of my papa's clothes instead of dresses like my mama wants.
"What ya gotta say, Y/n?" He asked tipping his hat up sitting in the grass beside his horse. Sitting down beside him I tuck some hair behind my ear grabbing his right hand in mine. "I got sick this mornin'. My mama taught me what that means and I understand if you'd wanna-" He cuts me off gently kissing me on the lips not letting me finish my sentence. Leaning my head against his I kissed back for a second waiting for a reaction different than this. "You ain't gonna run because of my papa?"
Ennis shakes his head cupping my face in his hands smiling. I mirror his expression feeling the heavy weight off my shoulders. "Your papa scares me yes indeed. But I - I love you. So I'll run away with you if that's what it takes." Throwing my arms around his neck his hat falls off his head when he fell on his back wrapping his arms around my waist. Pressing my lips to his I mumbled when he kissed back. "I love you too, Ennis and so will this child of ours." He smiled drawing me in for another kiss leaving the worry of my papa in the past.

Elsa, hiding in a bush until Sam wanders past. Jumps out and screeches at him to try to startle him. Elsa and Sam - @freedomhasfangs
He is looking for her, their time together had already a promised a life time of surprises. She was as trickery as a fox, as fast her namesake, and as filled with life as the flowers that blossomed with the passing of each winter. The natural concern to her whereabouts piqued his interests when his steps trailer after the last known location he had seen her tending to her horse. Sam’s eyes flit about the water where her horse drank, and then to the surrounding brush before a hand comes to pat Lightning’s neck. He steps back and looks back to the path he had arrived in -
< Lightning With The Yellow Hair. > He calls out, and then steps away, another, just for his new wife to come hurling out of the brush, arms lifted like a screeching hawk, and yelling in such a playful way he knew that hiding had been her intention. Sam is laughing too now, the startle in his own eye matched only by the sudden toss of the horses head back behind him. His hand? That had previously reached for his knife now reached forward to cup her hip, an advancing step to close the distance between him with equal parts mirth and adoration.
“You are tricky, Lightning With the Yellow Hair.” Sam continues, her name spoken in a tone that was always playful. And he leans down and pecks a kiss right against her tender lips, lingering softly just to give into a grin; just when she is about to relax he hoists her right into the air. Sam turns with Elsa right over his shoulder - laughing along with any words of protest she might offer as he turns on his heel and collapses backward right into the water.
Sam ( 1883 ) tag drop. with icon nabbed from @freedomhasfangs , because surprise surprise. You called and I have answered. ;)
[ sam ] everything you see and everything you saw yesterday is my home; you are always welcome in it. it is your home too now. [ sam / ic interactions ] i fought too hard for the land we have left; doubt the fighting is over. [ sam / inquires / ic interactions ] every where you go a blessing follows. you know how to steal horses; now i teach you to hunt. [ sam / inquires / out of character ] the 1883 theme makes me blubber like a baby. [ sam / visage ] white men think the world is so big because you fight against it when you travel. we move with it like the wolf. [ sam / musings ] i belong to the people; and the people still belong to this land. [ sam / ch. study ] you don’t want his name; with his name you mourn forever. [ sam / meta ] we meet here when the flowers bloom.
[ sam / dyn: elsa dutton ] know that I am waiting. know you fill my heart. know you are the wife of a warrior. know you are a warrior. [ sam / dyn: james dutton ] maybe someday you find land to belong to; and you’ll know what I mean.
[ sam / v: 1883 ] watching him kill was like a lion hurling himself into a deer; his fury was magnificent. there was no time for horror.
elsa dutton tags.
your turn @aworldofyou.
That's it. I'm writing an 1883/Old Guard fix-it. Elsa, my love, I'm coming to save you and your narrratice arc 💙
Freedom. To most, it is an idea. An abstract thought that pertains to control. That’s not freedom. That’s independence. Freedom is riding wild over untamed land with no notion any moment exists beyond the one you are living.
i have no idea if anyone rps anyone from 1883 or if there even are blogs out there, but damn it all. i just fell in love with the west, and the lightning with the yellow hair. 🥺😭 i want to add elsa dutton. hell maybe i'll even add some yellowstone muses too.
update: still sick 😫
people often ask me what characters I can compare myself to the most. Well it really depends on the day and how I am feeling. Most of the time I would like to think I am the most like Stella Kidd. But probably not. I am just a melting pot of Stella Kidd (her kindness, willing to help others and just her general 'I don't give a damn' attitude). Then I can be completely relentless, a Beth Dutton if you will, someone who is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done and they don't care who or what they hurt in the process. Just doing everything in her power to get the results she need. Then comes to Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova, the black widows, relentless, fearless, again being able to to whatever it takes, but they have a bit of a moral compass. Lastly, Hank Voight again, relentless, but for all the right reasons. Willing to do whatever it takes for the best outcome for the majority not the select few. Do we see the occurring theme here? I am willing to do whatever it takes for something I believe in. if people get hurt in the process well that is just collateral damage that I can't control. Probably not the best traits to have as a person, but I also feel like it helps me as well. Gets all the bullshitters and fake people out of the way. I have always been this way, but it has come out more since I have grown up. I choose to see the reality of it, rather than building a fantasy world where I am bound to be disappointed. I have been let down and disappointed too many times for me to be optimistic about anything. I just have that 'I don't give a fuck' attitude anymore. it is just easier that way. But like Yelena and Natasha, even Beth. I am very good at hiding my emotions. I was taught that showing of emotions is a sign of weakness, and I have lived by that since then. I forget where I heard the "Showing emotions is a sign of weakness", but like I said ever since that day. that is what I have chosen. Only a select amount of people have seen my actually cry. My best friend being one of them. I am not proud of this, but she has seen me on the floor crying my heart out over, Charity Case, again, not my finest moment. But ever since then, and way before. I don't show emotions.
Seriously why would I want to go to all the trouble of dating, when I can hyperfixate on songs, shows and fictional handsome men/pretty women who could kick my ass instead
😭 I drew Eliza from scratch 2 years ago, and they practically brought her doppelganger to the screen this year 💕💕💕
