    His First World Championship Race

    His First World Championship Race

Here is a young Stirling Moss about to go out to practice in his first World Championship F1 race, the Swiss Grand Prix which took place on the dangerous Bremgarten circuit at Berne on May 27, 1951. Moss is in one of John Heath’s F2 HWMs which were powered by the two liter four cylinder Alta motor. Heath had been invited (which means starting money) to bring two of his cars, the second one to be…

Monaco GP: Practice team notes - Ferrari

For the first time in the history of the Monaco Grand Prix, the Formula 1 cars were on track on a Friday and Scuderia Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz set the two fastest times of the day. As always in Monaco, the main purpose of free practice is to allow the drivers to do as many laps as possible to get into a rhythm around the street circuit, where the barriers are there to be brushed but always respected. The two F1-75s spent the entire session running on the Medium tyre, each driver using two sets. Charles' best time was a 1'14"531, which was seven hundredths quicker than Carlos, who stopped the clocks in 1'14"601. The two Ferrari men were split on the time sheet by Sergio Perez. The Ferrari duo completed a total of 57 laps, 29 for Leclerc and 28 for Sainz. Both drivers started off on the Hard tyres for the second hour of free practice, with Charles posting a time of 1'14"255, while Carlos did a 1'14"451. After a red flag following a crash for Daniel Ricciardo, the Monegasque and the Spaniard went back out on track with Soft tyres, their best laps being 1'12"655 and 1'12"700, the quickest times of the day. In the final part of the hour, both drivers ran with a heavier fuel load with the F1-75s in race trim, using the Soft and Hard compounds. They did a total of 62 laps, 30 for Charles and 32 for Carlos. Charles Leclerc: It was great to see so many people around the track today, considering that it is only Friday. It really makes me look forward to the next two days and hopefully we can give our tifosi a good result. We had consistent running and completed a good number of laps. We still have to fine tune the balance but, all in all, it wasn't too bad and we just need to make the usual step from Friday to Saturday now. Carlos Sainz: An encouraging day after completing our programme and performing well on track. Monaco is always a demanding track, but also a very exciting and fun circuit to push the car. Qualifying will be tight tomorrow by the looks of today, but so far we're happy with the job we've done and the way we've been improving every time we went out on track. Now it's all about the small details and finding the perfect balance for qualifying tomorrow. via Pitpass - the latest hottest F1 news https://www.pitpass.com/

Nw: Ferrari Targets For Homecoming Rob at Sunday’s Imola GP: The assign aside Cease Red Bull And Mercedes Stand?

With Ferrari on the subject of 40 gains sooner than Mercedes and Red Bull in 2022, the Emilia Romagna Huge Prix stands to be one of many largest races of the one year for the Italians, who strive to search out a bustle-winning homecoming this Sunday. Town of Imola is surprisingly little when in contrast to diverse circuit venues corresponding to Abu Dhabi or Melbourne. With barely 70,000 Italians…

I’m really exited to see how Charles s’gonna do in Monaco 🥳

I mean the practise result are looking promising and I really hope that he will finish on the podium, he deserves it.

But we’ll have to see what the qualifying will be like. It’s probably to early to say anything but I can at least hope hehe :))

no okay but listen. Mick and Charles on the podium together, Mick P1, Charles P2, perhaps, Seb P3 if we're already in the land of fantasy.

first Mick podium with the Scuderia, head up high on top of the podium first time since Singapore we hear the German and Italian anthem together again, both Charles and Seb looking at Mick, the mechanics below staring up. a moment of 'yeah this is how it should be' for everyone.

    bro. BRO. broooooooo

i literally cannot form a coherent Thought right now my brain is bouncing off the walls trying to process all of that in a way that won’t make me want to rip the hair out of my head !! bc could u. fucking. imagine. mick winning in monza. charles follows behind him and they bring home ferrari’s first 1-2 on their home track in over 2 decades. and YES, seb is p3 because we’re already delusional, might as well push the envelope even further

when mick holds the trophy high above his head, seb can’t even contain the look on his face staring up at him at the top step of the podium. his heart swells with so, so much pride because this boy that he’s witnessed grow up and blossom into the driver he is today, achieving the best thing he could do for the scuderia. and charles? charles smiles at him with fondness and because he knows. they have another shared language now—the feeling of an outstanding and momentous victory with ferrari in front of the home crowd. whatever mick felt at that moment, he felt too. but maybe mick feels it even more.

and just ?? charles and seb getting the same idea of spraying mick head to toe in champagne the moment celebrations roll in ?? they’re just so proud of him, and they want everyone to know that the day belongs to him and that he deserves the win more than anyone else

#riel.ask #kyle #i’m going to scream and throw up and cry at 2am #no one look at me rn im havin a Moment #ferrari mick u r my love my light my life #and u dont even exist yet

Leclerc says Ferrari need to make 'another step' despite healthy gap to rivals in Monaco practice

Leading both opening practice sessions is not enough for championship hopeful and home racer Charles Leclerc, as he says he still needs to make more gains to stay ahead of Red Bull – and any other teams that might trouble Ferrari in Monaco. Leclerc led FP1 just 0.04s over Sergio Perez but topped the second session over team mate Carlos Sainz, with the Red Bulls dropping back by three tenths. Yet he wasn’t over the moon, the Monegasque driver explaining why, after what seemed to be a successful start to proceedings in his home town. WATCH: Ride onboard with Leclerc as he sets the fastest time on the opening day in Monaco “It was not great in FP1; a bit better in FP2,” said Leclerc, “but I really think that we need to do another step for tomorrow because I’m pretty sure that everyone has got quite a bit of margin on a Friday and also as drivers, so it’s a bit of the unknown for now. “The car looks strong, also in the race pace we seem to be good even though there was quite a bit of traffic. But the initial feeling is good. Hopefully we can do the step that we want to do from tomorrow, and have a great weekend from that.” Leclerc made it five practice sessions in a row that he's finished top on Friday What is that step that Ferrari need to make? Leclerc took responsibility, adding that he needs to begin pushing the limits with an all-important qualifying session in mind. READ MORE: Hamilton 'fighting the car' around Monaco as Mercedes pair target overnight improvements “Overall, mostly driving. Driving – I took it step by step and for now it’s all going well, but yes, once you put the last step in, that’s where the risks are becoming higher and this we will only do in qualifying tomorrow. “It’s very tricky because the track is very very bumpy, a lot of kerb riding too, so you can really feel it’s a big difference compared to last year’s car, for everyone. And yes, it makes it even more challenging than before. But yes, for now, we are competitive, so I’m happy.” He was pushed hard by his team mate, who was just 0.044s shy of Leclerc's leading time in FP2 Sainz, who finished third in FP1 by just 0.07s to Leclerc before backing him up for a Ferrari one-two in FP2, said his team had dealt with the bumps of Monaco much better than their rivals. “The important thing is we are competitive, we are feeling pretty good for the challenge that it is. These cars are a lot more all over the place, a lot trickier with the bumps, with the kerbs. But yes the important thing is it seems the others are struggling even more so yeah, good challenge ahead of us. READ MORE: Red Bull 'surprised' at gap to Ferrari after Verstappen and Perez trail Leclerc in Monaco practice “I guess we seem to be working the tyres well, and at the same time we seem to have a decent level of grip which is the important thing around here, no? And it seems like the ride, the bumps, the kerbs, seems like it is a challenge for everyone.” Leclerc has never reached the chequered flag in his home Grand Prix but will be hoping to do so for the first time on Sunday, knowing that he’s just six points behind championship leader Max Verstappen in the drivers’ standings. via Formula 1 News https://www.formula1.com
