It's really super fascinating how many forms of life and ghosts which exists here, I knew some kind of spirits still existed after dead because of spirit challenging, but never to this extend! Did any of you guys believe ghosts existed before this? I guess only Ryuu and Kazuma has the time to answer right now since the other's are busy, is Kazuma done telling what has happened?

I've explained. On some level, I believed in ghosts, I think.

I definitely believed in souls and the like, but I didn't think there were ghosts roaming around.

He’d always hated filling in on hits. It was his absolute least favorite thing to do. However, Mattheo had needed Eric on watch for Gracelyn, and Alder was on his own hit. It had earned him a pretty nasty stab wound to the side, but nothing too intense. He did recognize the neighborhood he was walking through, hoping to make it to Gracelyn’s quickly to get it taken care of. It would be another twenty minutes to walk to the ginger’s apartment though. Oh, he really recognized this area. He knew a girl that lived here-

Would she even want to see him? Mattheo shrugs off his doubt as a sharp pain goes through his side. He keeps his arm against the wound for pressure, groaning. This was the worst. Still, he locates the residence, hoping she’s there, and knocks on the door. As it opens, he’s taken aback by her beauty, practically mesmerized for a second.

I've been slowly working out my ideas for a Hollow Knight AU (and never actually getting round to starting it) and I had an idea for how Ghost could be able to talk and I thought I'd share it with Tumblr.

two words: Abyss Shriek.

(and also and infinite source of soul but I'm still working on that)

Abyss shriek is a pretty cool spell, it does a fair chunk of damage and is really useful against flying enemies and, like it's name implies, it makes you do a little scream. but, what if Ghost could regulate how much soul they used for it, making it deal less / no damage and last longer with the same amount of soul?

Ghost could potentially learn how to change what sounds the spell made too, forming words and sentences. of course even though it would be a weaker form of the spell it would still use up a decent amount of soul whenever they tried to communicate so ideally they would have some constant supply of soul such as the kingsoul charm. Unfortunately if you would want to have the godhome ending as the ending in your story that wouldn't work and I still need to think of a viable replacement, I'm currently toying with the idea of like, a mini version of the soul totems you find throughout the game that just slowly gives Ghost soul (cant make it too much soul though as that would make communication too easy and that's no fun!)
