They leave the club much the same this time. His jacket draped over her shoulders, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows as they pass jokes and a cigarette back and forth.
The only difference this time is they sport a couple of matching rings.
The hotel is fancier than the International Inn but not as ostentatious as the Fontainebleu. He unlocks the door to the room and waves her in with a flourish, but she stands there, staring up at him much the same as that first date.
So he leans against the doorframe, watching her in kind.
A broad smile meets her pink lips and she jerks a thumb over her shoulder. "Should I get a cab?"
He laughs and tugs his wife inside.

I don't think he'd like sweet tamales, mostly because this is blorbo projecting and I hate sweet tamales, but also in Jayce's case, he can't enjoy the atole if he eats a sweet tamal :( Is not that he's not a sweets guy, but the combination of sweet food and sweet drink might be too much.
On the other hand, when his mom taught him how to make atole, he didn't stay with the traditional flavors (you know, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry or plum) but he, like a good scientist, experimented with flavor. And that's how he learned how to make cookie atole (de Galleta María 💜) and dry fruit atole. In winter he always has some on his hands, it is warm in your mug, it is warm when you drink and it warms your heart, too<3
