The Bookish Box: Buyer Beware

Quick question: has anyone else ordered for the bookish box? I have so many issues with this company and I’ve been holding them all in until I receive my Diviners package (still haven’t gotten it). I have DMed in March the company regarding the delay of the set and they responded. Yesterday, I messaged them again asking about this week’s shipping email as none was sent out and I would like to know what’s going on since they already took my $150. This pain-in-my-ass company left me on read. I asked a simple yes or no question and they couldn’t bother to answer it.

Honestly, if you are considering purchasing from the Bookish Box, do. Not. Do. It. I preordered the Diviners box set in October, it was supposed to be shipped in March but was delayed until the end of May. We are at the end of May with no shipping update at all. They are behind on nearly every single box set or subscription box yet they have the audacity to keep selling more to unsuspecting customers. Also unlike so many other book preorders, they immediately take the money out of your account so it’s a whole other situation to get it back when canceling your order. I’ve also recently seen a customer complain that instead of sending her Crave box set, they sent an empty box and now they want her to pay another $18 for it to be reshipped. (Shipping on most preorders tends to be free bc they’re so pricey and this is they’re fault. Not the customers but the customer is expected to pay).

If you order from them, good luck getting anything you’ve ordered or getting any answer from customer service, let alone a kind one. I know tone is hard over text, but a lot of the FAQs or shipping updates online come across as snarky as if customers are nothing more than a nuisance.

My favorite chaos lesbians making terrible and romantic bad decisions. I wanted something elegant for Irene so I re-did her outfit. Was looking at Wong Kar Wai films so some of it snuck into the process. I gave her a lucky charm bracelet, thinking it was funny for a precog.

The scene where Sherlock exposes Irene’s love please I can never get enough of it. Like, feed me with this scene intravenously. He is so freakin’ spectacular at that moment, epic, mesmerizing, and out of this world. The writers, and Benedict, surely knew how to make us feel completely fascinated by this character, and embarrassingly obsessed. How could we not understand Irene or Molly. That extraordinary human being could be despicable, yet you couldn’t help but be in awe and fall in love with him all over again. So much layers and shades and DEPTH, nothing is just black or white, and GOD I LOVE THIS.

Looking back I think Irene is John’s mirror/foil too. This doesn’t mean she loves Sherlock though, but maybe she exists to show us the truth about John (and foreshadow S5)
