Reading is one form of escape. Running for your life is another.
Lemony Snicket
“My mom’s a dick”
Lemony Snicket voice:
the word ”dick” here, is used figuratively, noting that their mom was not in fact a huge talking penis. but their mom was literally, a person that can rightfully be called a dick, meaning she was an extremely unpleasant and abusive mother
received this copy some years ago. it came with handfuls of questions and nearly no answers , as is the way of the world.
is it just me or did everyone imagine all of atwq in black and white with no color except for blue

There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you, and there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
Lemony Snicket
If you still wanna do the character bingo thing: Lemony and/or Fernald?
i would be thrilled to!
Lemony
i was so tempted to fill in ‘they got done dirty by fans’ just to get the bingo, but i really can’t justify that.
across all continuities, i love lemony’s style and vibe. shadowy man with grey suit and hat, yes please!
just like beatrice, the things about lemony that initially seem deep are shallow but he has a lot of real depth underneath that. (ot3 thoughts about bertrand seeing that about beatrice immediately but it taking a little longer for him to see past lemony’s pretensions but once he does…)
i don’t know if i really project my own issues on to him, but in writing him i found a lot more commonality with him than i really expected. both he and beatrice really fascinate me in how much they are not like me but still resonate with me in unexpected ways.
Fernald
i have a lot of thoughts about fernald but they don’t really fit into this grid.
i don’t think if i met him in real life i would ever get past his association with olaf and his ability to make scary faces, but he’s such a layered and thematically important character!
“I’m sorry i embarrassed you in front of your friends. i only wanted to talk to you.”
(Aw Lem <3)
The tears I shed for you could fill a thousand oceans. But they could not extinguish your house.
Lemony Snicket? Can’t remember, honestly
parents of millennials/older gen z wondering why we were hopeless and depressed as teens as if they didn’t give us lemony snicket’s a series of unfortunate events to read as a bedtime story when we were 6
"Who could that be at this hour?"
— Me, to me, upon entering the kitchen to see that something was cooking in the oven, before remembering the title of a book which explicitly told me this was the wrong question to ask.
starting to realize there is an absurd amount of characters in the snicketverse that follow the pattern of
1) existing and being relevant enough for me to like them but not relevant enough for me to think any significant events would surround them
2) dying
3) subsequently making me realize they were actually one of my favorites and now they're dead
Let's give it up for todays "experts", Frank Burns and the guy from Lemony Snicket's.
LMFAO 🤣
