Made this for my mom, but also Buffalo's are just cool to draw.

I’ve had this character for over a year and decided to finally do more than sketch them. This is Speck!

“You are Thamani’s kid, aren´t you?”

“Nia...please...let’s just go...” Darius whispered anxiously.

“Hold on a second, Darius.” Nia said. She then turned her attention to the crocodile that was smiling at them. “You...you knew my father?”

“Oh yeah! A nice guy! We used to be friends!” The reptile’s smile grew bigger and then looked at the yellow lioness with fondness. “Name’s Tabasamu. A pleasure to meet you”.

Going back to the Thornbush Pride, Nia and co meet the crocodile herd that lives at the borders of the pride! It’s actually by accident that the meeting happens: Dalili (the scared cub in the picture), being just declared as the future leader of the Pride after Mkuu’s dead, decided to go and prove herself as capable by trying to speak to the different animals that live near the pride. But the crocodiles were bigger than she thought and it didn’t go as planned. Darius and Nia were close by (Nia actually being the designed cubsitter of Dalili and well, Darius follows Nia everywhere) and go to help Dalili. 

For the record, Darius is scared and protective here because he lost his hind leg after a crocodile attack. Also we got the reveal of Tanglamane’s name! Thamani means “value”. And Tabasamu means “smile”.

Timeline speaking, this is happening (in parallel) a few months before Kiara’s hunt in the second movie.
