also i am going to go watch wheel of fortune and jeopardy to center myself. not gonna stop posting tho.

I was playing Skyrim the other day, and something occurred to me while I was learning the 'dragon tongue' through 'words of power.'

I could use that in magic!

I know it sounds stupid, but bear with me.

The actual magic in the game, obviously, we can't use, that's stupid, but we can take the words and the intention behind them and use those.

The MC's power comes from something called Shouting. Each shout is made up of three words from the language of dragons, and anyone can speak them, but it takes intelligence, knowledge of the words and intent to make them work, and that's when I had my epiphany.

I list a couple shouts bellow and what they do in game:

Aura Whisper:

'Your Voice is not a Shout, but a whisper, revealing the life forces of any and all.'

Laas Yah Nir

Life Seek Hunt

IRL you might meditate on it to become more aware of spirits around you.

Now of course, there are some shouts that I wouldn't recommend focusing on, because these do come from a game in which you're expected to kill dragons and giant spiders,

so Elemental Fury, Dismay, Unrelenting Force, Fire Breath, probably best to not try the harmful ones. But all magic has positive and negative applications, so what can I do about it? People who curse or hex will continue to do so, I just feel better if I ask you nicely not to XD

There are a load of other dragon words, you could probably mix them up the create new meditation intentions.

I just felt like sharing that.

Ps.

There is the chance that any of these words can translate to some unknown language and mean something awful like, 'summon demon,' but there are so many words that have different meanings in different languages, so I think it's the intent that matters more than anything, like chat in French is cat, but in English, means brief talk. Gift in English means present, but poison in German, or kiss in English meaning smooch, but means urine in Scandinavian. See what I mean?
