elaborating on the Power a scene of mike coming out to el would have... like just the fact that especially if mike goes thru an arc this season where he eventually feels safe enough to admit to himself that he’s gay and that he’s been hiding/repressing it to survive in Hawkins... and how that would line up with how El’s been running from her past for the last few seasons but in s4 she finally has to really confront it and so he’d understand, in his own way, what it’s like to always be hiding in plain sight because there’s people who want to hurt you that go along with the things you are burying... But how exhausting it becomes to always be trying to blend in and run away... and now he’s seen the way El was able to face her past head-on this season and it gives him the courage to want to stop running too and really reckon with what he’s been running from himself. Especially because now he knows he has people who.. *looks back at Will* who understand what it’s like and have found their own people and know places where they don’t have to hide who they are either. LIKE something like that would only strengthen their friendship while also giving each of them their own development. it just... god that would just be so beautiful :’)

OR THIS MONOLOGUE IS BEFORE THE SORTA CLIMAX OF THE ARC AND MIKE AND EL BOTH PROMISING EACH OTHER THEY’LL FACE THEIR OWN STRUGGLES HEAD ON... LIKE. COME ON YOU CAN’T TELL ME THAT DOESN’T HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO HIT LIKE A TON OF BRICKS!!

i love the idea of praising anthony during sex. telling him how pretty he is, how good he is, how nice he feels...

hmm writer bill on the set of his movie where mike wheeler is a cameraman or simply somehow involved in the production. post-ch2 retained memories now and set goes into lockdown because of Something, some supernatural force (unrelated to pennywise or upside down) and it’s a sort of trapped style horror movie plot taking place.

bill and mike both start taking charge and initially they butt heads because bill is like why is this random guy acting like he knows what to do and mike thinks bill is only trying to be leader because he’s the writer and they’re trying to shut the other down thinking i have experience with shit like this but you dont

until both of them come up with actually a very smart idea. like mike figures out how to set a trap and bill gives a very impassioned speech about working together to get out of this and they kinda realize. huh. maybe this guy does know what he’s doing.

and as they work together more they realize that wow they really get along well and their leadership styles mesh instead of conflict and they both really like having someone to bounce ideas off of who somehow gets what it’s like to be looked up to in a situation as terrifying as this.

now i know this would be a lot more fun if i knew what the antagonist really was but whatever they have it trapped they’re fighting it down and it’s a pirates of the caribbean proposal type conversation as they reveal their traumatic past experiences like i fought a demon clown!! well i fought government monsters!! we should get coffee after this!! maybe dinner and a movie too!!

and it’s super different than any other monster fighting experience they’ve had before because well one nobody died two it didn’t dig into deeply ingrained fears and three they came out of it with a hot date set up. everyone they were trapped with is a little thrown off by how well these guys took it all but whatever they saved the day

and on the hot date they compare stories in detail, mike shows pictures of him and the party as kids and bill shows off the photo booth pictures the losers pass around (wow you used to look exactly like richie!! i guess i aged better huh?) and it’s super nice to have someone who gets it but who doesn’t carry the same exact weight, you know?

and then the two old men kiss and then it’s pretty much happily ever after <3

Okay. For the last time. I don't care about the leaks. I don't care about Reddit. I don't care about those twitter idiots that shit on my friends because they have a total of zero (0) active brain cells and love to start ship wars. And I don't care about ship wars at all. I also don't care about ableist takes and people who make fun of carefully crafted theories simply because they don't understand them.

I received several messages again about the leaks "being correct" and blablabla. And I'm normally a nice and polite person but it's starting to be very annoying, and receiving literal threats and anon hate just because I ship 2 characters, think the DID theory is interesting or assume Will has superpowers is total bullshit.

Also, to the people telling me I'm mean to El because I don't ship mlvn: what's the absolute heck? El is "her own person", like queen Nancy Wheeler said. She's an interesting character on her own. She isn't defined by a ship. And the same goes for every character in the show. I don't like Mike or Will because I ship them. I like them individually for very different reasons and I appreciate their romantic link as well.

Stranger Things isn't defined by ships, thanks god. The show tackles so many different topics. The dangers of miscommunication, the fear of growing up, the desire to find one's place in the world, the way we conform to social rules that break us, the different reactions to abuse one can have, the joys and pains of friendship...

Yes, I talk about Byler a lot. I find solace in their carefully crafted relationship, and I appreciate the thought put into the build up of their ever-evolving friendship. But that doesn't mean the show isn't valuable on its own. But when I say Byler is important to the plot, I mean it. It is an important storyline, if you want to understand some characters' arcs. And shipping Byler doesn't equate to hating El. When I say mlvn was toxic in S3, it isn't a blow to El or Mike. It's just my personal understanding of their relationship.

(And I personally find it very amusing to see the passions generated by 2 ships with characters that obviously parallel each other... because, yes, El and Will have A LOT in common.........)

Also, I want to make it clear that I appreciate theories generated by leaks. I like it when people use their imagination to speculate about something they love, or something they're passionate about. But I dislike talking about leaks and leakers as if they were absolute gods and knew everything just because they say so. People aren't infaillible. Sometimes they lie, sometimes they don't agree on a singular interpretation of things, sometimes they don't have all the keys to understand stuff, etc. That's why, unless you're willing to talk to me about your ideas, hypotheses and theories generated by leaks (which I'm always eager to read), I don't want to hear about them anymore.

Now, you read my blog if you want to, and you know what kind of content I create and support. If you want to tell me I'm wrong and I should be "ashamed" (yes, yes...), feel free to eat grass and never visit again until you get yourself some decency.

i honestly wish i could go back to the days when i looked at mike wheeler and saw a boy. back when i shipped byler. when i was so ready to defend them at any moment. ah to be normal. but no, it is physically impossible for me to see mike wheeler and not be like “that’s a lesbian”
