It's the time of the year when I will run into lost/confused American tourists who are so relieved that I speak English, then so delighted to discover that I'm also American. ❤
"Waldeinsamkeit" is probably my favorite German word.
wait what language do you think in
Well my first language is Italian (I'm Italian) and I was raised speaking Spanish and English as well, so kind of a mix of those three lol
How many languages can you actually speak. Like, fluently
I can speak Italian, Spanish, English, German, French, Russian, and Greek.
My parents are Italian, my dads brother is Spanish, I live in an English speaking country, and I just learnt the other four for fun lol
Do any other multilingual peeps do the thing where you try to say something in one language, but you use grammar from another language? Like, I'll be out here using German grammar for Russian.
post-near light musings about mlynar nearl and the nearl family in general
some japanese ak players on twitter were having an interesting conversation about the epilogue. the japanese word for "darksteel" is "kurogane" in kana:
if you wanted to write it using kanji you'd write 黒金. with the characters for "black" and "gold." obviously the original word would be chinese so I might be speculating out of my ass here.
anyway, you ever notice how the nearl knights all have a white/gold colour scheme? maria obviously does. zofia, while not an official nearl, also does. mlynar, however, has a black/gold colour scheme.
the margaret who was cast out of kazimierz wore black armor. after her rejoining kazimierz society, so to speak, she went back to donning white.
the epilogue pretty much explicitly states that mlynar used to be a knight killer.
he and darksteel must have had some level of mutual understanding before presumably having a falling out. he objected to integrating the armorless into KGCC:
so their association must have started before the KGCC started to fully utilize the armorless as a way to maintain control over the territory and deter the campaign knights. you might remember roy talking about the founding of the armorless - it was back when the knights themselves were the oppressive feudal lords, and someone had to fight back. and so the armorless were born: people who forgo wearing armor to not make noise while carrying out murders, or people who couldn't afford the armor in the first place.
roy is a character who frequently talks out of his ass, but he made it sound like that was some pretty old history. darksteel might be near-immortal or one of the numerous immortal entities we have running around in terra - you know nobody says they've been around for a long time without reason.
another thing that I think might be worth pointing out is that while the english translation was "wanderer, but not yet a knight" for that part where toland tells how he and mlynar met, the japanese translation seems to have used the word 遊侠 which means "a chivalrous person". so mlynar introduces himself as "a chivalrous man, but not an official knight" and, having just seen him wash away the blood on his face under rain, toland is like "if you're chivalrous then I am the best fucking bounty hunter in history!"
Me: about to say thank you to someone
My brain: say 謝謝
Me: why would I say 謝謝??? this personally doesn’t speak any Chinese?
My brain: s a y 謝謝
Me: I am literally the only person here who knows some Chinese, why would I thank them in Chinese? that doesn’t make any sense!
My brain: 謝謝謝謝謝謝謝謝
Me: no, we are just going to say thank you because this person speaks English and we are trying to thank them and they won’t understand if we thank them in Chinese
Me: attempts to say thank you
My brain: 😈😈😈😈
Me: tha— “謝謝你”
My brain: :)
Me: well frick you too
Multilingual struggle of the day:
Te quiero también, але це не заважає мені of being afraid
About 75% of the internet is available in languages other than English. This means that even if you have a global audience, you can only reach 25% of it! For example, if you have consumers in Spain, chances are they won't be able to find you. Therefore, Multilingual SEO Course in Delhi for international search engines should be a key component of any internet marketing strategy. According to Multilingual SEO Course in Delhi to submit to international search engines, you don't have to translate your entire website. In most cases, simply creating a page on your website with content in a foreign language of your choice is sufficient.
When you know and learn a lot of languages and your partner not good at speaking at all.
- I love you
- Te amo mucho
- <3 <3
- Я тебя люблю
- <3 <3 <3
- Я тобі кохаю
- I know only emoji language but it is mutual

Something that is never mentioned when talking about people that speak more than one language is the fact that no matters how high level we are, we have absolutely no idea what is the appropriate kind of language given any situation.
Idk, maybe it's just me, but I'm technically supposed to be c1 in English, yet I can't tell the difference between slang and fancy Shakespearean posh old English
my thoughts are mostly in English but sometimes I realize that I’m thinking and I get a sentence that’s like “I’m totally 괜찮아 with tous les personnes que je know”
