Romanticized violation of negative freedoms... Well that’s a mouthful.
Don’t cause confusion with terms please. Thank you. But if you have to, please at least be consistent with your confusion. I’m not a fan of the cultural criticism term ‘toxic masculinity’ cause it blurrs the meaning of the word, guilt-trips men and ties the word too much to gender. How about we call it *Violation of a person’s negative freedoms (see Kant about ‘negative freedom’ =the person’s right to be away from others’ attention, the person’s freedom away from humoring others) romanticized by media (historically associated with male-centeredness of perspectives of the media)* That MUST be more clear and intelligible. Nice and concise. Short and simple, eh? I dunno. I know ‘toxic masculinity’ means other things too but I may get back to this and come up with even longer definition.
