A few questions...

The entirety of KinnPorsche Ep8 was giving me Ep 6.5 side story vibes and I don’t know whether I absolutely adore that or whether it didn’t feel suited to an entire episode... 

I also wonder why they didn’t talk about Tawan until the end of the episode? I assumed they would address it earlier since Porsche pointed it out at the end of Ep7, so I was pretty shocked that it was never a topic of conversation up to that point. But maybe that’s meant to reflect how deep in the honeymoon phase they both are?

And Kinn said he’s over Tawan, but is he really? His hesitation suggests that he’s still harboring feelings (which I do understand given how trust-obliterating that whole relationship was for him), but I sincerely hope he’s not thinking about treating Tawan kindly next episode/giving him any sort of special treatment because that would be a terrible blow to Porsche. The preview shows Tawan in what looks like a cell but then in a bathtub, so that makes me think that Kinn is attempting to treat him nicely. But I’ll be legitimately peeved if the conflict with Tawan focuses on Kinn’s lingering feelings for him rather than Kinn trying to reassure Porsche that Tawan really does mean nothing to him anymore. Kinn and Porsche are too cute and in love for me to stomach the thought of a past lover bringing up old feelings in Kinn and God help me if Kinn gives in to any advance that Tawan makes towards him. I will literally spit fire if that happens. 

Love Triangle seems like the most accurate title for what I’m afraid will happen next episode, though it doesn’t quite fit since we obviously know that Kinn and Porsche will end up together in the end. It’s just that the show has done such a great job so far of separating itself from certain genre cliches that are, at least in my opinion, needlessly dramatic; it would be a shame if the Tawan situation is handled in this way. I find the conflict more entertaining when it’s about how Kinn and Porsche will navigate being together despite their environment, because the mafia setting is ultimately what sets this story apart. That’s been the conflict up to this point, and that’s what I’ve adored so much. That’s the kind of angst I enjoy.

I think there is definitely more to the story than we know by this point, but I also thought there would be more to the fallout between Tawan and Kinn? All Kinn says is that Tawan betrayed him and then he shot him. Is there more to the story that Kinn knows and doesn’t want to to share? (I’m aware there’s almost certainly more to the story that Kinn doesn’t know since he seemed shocked to find Tawan alive at the end.) 

Finally...I wanted more from the footsie scene. There was a plot to what was being said during that scene that I would’ve liked to see actually play out. Plus, I think the actual footsie part could’ve been drawn out much longer--instead, it felt like more of a montage moment. But that’s a pretty minor critique overall. 

In general, I’d say this episode has made me contradict my own opinions the most out of any of them so far. I liked it but it also felt off somehow, and I’m currently trying to reconcile all of the plot points (or lack thereof) in my mind.

- Eddie's liked Jade since day one and vice versa because of one thing: loyalty. She literally debuts by running down the ramp with a steel chair in platforms (trying to fight off either JAS or Undisputed Elite) because she saw Will needed help. He's like: okay. That's sick I like her ekeowosjs

- Jade likes Eddie because even though he's with Santana and Ortiz he's still so loyal to Mox he aligned himself with BCC. Plus she saw him throw the tv at J*richo and thought it was hilarious

- If anyone ever tells him about Jade being autistic or any of her little quirks all he hears is "Oh, she's just like Mox" and it makes him want to back her up more

- Eddie reminds Jade of Mia Yim a lot and that's also why she really likes him.

- Eddie just... doesn't ask her too many questions either. He's just like, that's Will's kid, that's Mox's friend. She can fuck things up and keeps to herself. We're gonna be just fine.
