I wrote multiple stories to send in to Are You Scared and I am going to give the rundown of them in a really shitty way and let you guys vote to see if I send in any of them at all..okay so-
1. This is a story that I wrote in high school and won local and state awards for but I tweaked it a little(TW for topics like medicine and death)
Its about a young lady who wakes up and is just having a really off day. Everything is blurring, vague, like she’s stuck in a constant brain fog. She can’t understand why she feels this way or what’s causing it. There are moments in her day, like glitches, where the dullness turns to colors, voice become clear, like she is awake but they only last for so long. She doesn’t know if she’s experiencing a coma, an overdose, or hell?? everyday the pieces of clairty come, fitting together like a puzzle of glass, until she understands exactly why she’s trapped in the continual terror of uncertain visions. (I can’t say anything else bc this story is.. wild)
2. the second one involves an unreliable narrator who is young, based on a loose personal encounter of my youth. its in first person pov about the time they meet a demon in the woods. how a serious of events led to the unraveling of the supernatural in a small town in southern Appalachia. with things from demons and ghosts to cryptids such as aliens and shadowed monsters its the story of a child who can’t decipher real horrors from their imagination. (this is my personal favorite and its hard to do a synopsis because its so.. odd
the third one isn’t great so i won’t mention it and the fourth one isn’t finished but opinions? send em
