The thought of Riri having a show that’s about Riri seems to make people sick. Hell the thought of having Riri show up in the MCU at all seems to make people sick… and it’s driving me crazy
I heard a rumor that in the MCU Riri Williams will be given the Iron Lad backstory, she will be a variant of Kang/Immortus/He Who Remains etc. And I have to say I kinda like this change? I loved Nate but the vol 1 team had a distinct lack of PoCs let alone WoC and this gives Riri an interesting background that Bendis did not.
That seems really disrespectful to her character. You're basically taking a woman of color and making her a variant of a male character. It feels kind of unfair.
Granted I don't know. I've read maybe two issues of a comic where Riri appeared. Maybe she is underdeveloped. Or maybe it will be an insult to her character.... it would be nice to tare her away from the Tony/Iron Man aspect. But I am not sure if then tying her to Kang makes sense.
But then...if that's the case...and they're putting her in that position as a young, female Kang variant, (which I highly doubt) why give her, her own series? She wouldn't need it.
So I don't think that will happen. Also, where did you hear such a rumor?

That means we’re not getting a Young Avengers movie or a Champions movie. We’re getting a Marvel Rising. Instead of Squirrel Girl and Spider-Gwen, we’re getting Cassie and Kate.
And I’m not ok with this.

Here's my perdition for M.o.M and the young avengers set up:
Billy and Tommy are going to be 11
Teddy will be introduce in whatever new Captain Marvel thing(or she-hulk and the take Hulkling a little to seriously)
They will form in a weird series of events, and have weird ages.
It'll be a mix of both 2005 and 2013 young avengers
No gay people
OR
Teddy is never introduced. Neither is Noh Varr
Team conist of: Patriot, Falcon, America, Wiccan, Speed, Kid Loki, Hawkeye, Spiderman and Yelena (this is the bad timeline)
I think they might mix the champions and the young avengers?
They are slowly introducing Kamala and Riri but haven't set up any other Champions??
