The Mask-Maker June Update Info

I've been a busy boy looking here and there for the second act of my fic oh nvm it was right under my nose the whole time

I'll be resuming my normal Saturday posting schedule starting June 4th

To note, real life took a turn during May, and real life comes first of course. I had a death in the family and have also been dealing with frustrating medical issues. So just as a heads up, I may slow down posting once we get about halfway through Act 2 due to being a little behind :) I'm chipping away at it whenever my brain desires.

Otherwise, I'm excited to share what I've been working on, so I'll see you then!

Nothing like the Symphony of the Goddess to make me wish Botw had a decent soundtrack. I hope botw 2 improves on that.

I get the whys and hows it doesn't have an elaborate musical composition, but it's still so boring. Espcially if compared with TP, WW or SkSw symphonic arrangements.

You know something I just thought of..

Fierce Diety is supposed to be a God/Demi-God, but he looks strikingly like Link in Majora's Mask. And that got me thinking more;

What if Fierce Diety is actually Skyward Sword Link?

I might be majorly wrong or off base, but just give it a good think! Ganondorf in all the other games are recreations of the God of Evil, Demise, still holding the Triforce of Power within their grasp.

Zelda in all the games is the recreation of the Goddess Hylia, but still holds the Triforce of Wisdom in her grasp.

Where does that leave Link? He couldn't just know immediately what to do. The sword or Fi wouldn't come get him if he wasn't some sort of previous God. He holds the Triforce of Courage, and holds an unnatural amount of strength and strive than others.

It brings me to another question; What if Fierce Diety was previously Hylia's knight? Defending her and saving her when she couldn't herself?

If that is the case, then wouldn't Fierce Diety be the God verison of Link? Like how Hylia is Zelda and Demise is Ganon?

There is no solid evidence to prove this theory, but there are some interesting observations;

The Fierce Diety's sword gives off a strike that looks like the Skyward strike from Skyward Sword.

"Fierce Diety's Mask" is placed possesively, meaning Fierce Diety was someone previously, just like Majora.

Fierce Diety looks similar to Link, like how Hylia looks similar to Zelda, which arises more questions than answers.

It’s both midnight and has been over two weeks since I last baked something and the urge has returned in full force.

Might doodle the two being awkward sometime but, just a bit of background Fic Musing that is mostly inconsequential to the flow of the story.

Basically, my lil headcanon for TMM!Link (Imposter!Link, FD!Link, etc) is that he dated Pipit prior to the events of Skyward Sword. I wanted him to be coming into the Ghiralink relationship with some previous experience.

But I imagine Piplink was probably your standard fare for late high school romance - full of missteps, a bit awkward and rushed, experimental and unsure. They broke up somewhat amicably a month or so before Link's Wing Ceremony. Now, their friendship a couple years later is still in that awkward "we dated once as teens and I think you're great but also I don't know how to interact with you yet, so we keep awkwardly waving at each other and saying 'hey you, how's it going!' 'hey! it's going!' and then the conversation quickly lulls and we both get super nervous and excuse ourselves politely" stage.

iykyk, those real Oof Vibes of growing pains, but ultimately harmless growth experiences that you look back on with fondness.

“Certainly I believe you will! Why, these things are like muscle memory, it runs in the veins. Tell me, I’m sure you’ve found yourself creating them in the Sky without even realizing?” Ghirahim sounds uncharacteristically encouraging about all of this.

“No, I haven’t–...oh,” and Link suddenly remembers all of the wood-carvings piled up in his room at the Academy. While not exactly the same thing, the act of sculpting and carving has been a skill so intrinsic that it may as well be compulsion. Link can’t help but shudder. Each of his carvings, a mimicry of something he’s seen out in the world. An image captured, its very soul imprisoned by his own hands.

“...I guess I have, in a way,” the knight says in a much smaller voice.
