'Not as deep as they seem' and 'deeper than they seem' are sharing a question mark because it's like - yes, I read into Ten. No, I don't read into Ten the same way the majority of his fandom seem to. Yes, I am annoyed by this (and by the various fandom subsections that deal with him). My favorite Ten content is comics, Big Finish, and my own interpretations as a fan creator. This also makes for difficulties with the wider fandom for him, since they're universally TV focused.

Also I think by default, the Doctor works better as part of a dynamic. Gotta have a companion to play off of and (in Ten's case) occasionally get their ego knee-capped by.
