Hyperion has told enough stories about him, and none of them ever get it right - not the one where he’s the abandoned golden child, the best-kept secret of Jack Takano and Northstar, not the ones that call him a conspiracy theorist wrapped up in the footage of a hoax, not the full-length, front-page biography about “Juno Kanagawa.”
No, Hyperion has only ever seen pieces. None of their stories mention that he’s a mer, and after seeing the damage being known can cause, Juno prefers it that way.
But not even Juno knows his whole story. Finding it will require untangling a web of lies tied together with mer song... and learning to trust.

I was talking to myself in the shower and i said the most genius thing. I said "Lord Arum is just Peter Nureyev wearing a lizard costume doing a very bad impression of Con O'Neill"
At first it hurt, it hurt so badly, to see this lady look so much happier, so much softer and unburdened and alive after he refused Peter. To see a Juno Steel that isn’t trying to die, and isn’t angry at the entire universe, and isn’t gnashing at the teeth for a fight against anything that could hurt him, after Peter offered him the stars and was abandoned. It hurt to see Juno so much better and know it happened without Peter, after Peter offered to do anything for him.
Now, though. Now it makes Peter smile, knowing his love found it in himself to try to get better, to want to live, for himself, not for Peter. Not because Peter requested it, but because Juno looked at his life and decided to be kinder to himself, to not take the entire universe on his own shoulders, and to allow others in.
Peter may not have been part of this process, but the fact is that it’s only because Juno grew so much that he is even allowed in now, and more than that… more than that, Peter is just so proud, seeing the man who stole his heart finding joy in being alive, after the last time they parted ways with each other, death clinging to both of them, but even more so to the detective who tried to blow himself
