Looking for recommendations:

Hello lovelies,

With everything going on recently, my husband and I feel strongly about no longer supporting companies that don’t align with our moral and religious values.

This seems extremely difficult right now, as it seems like most big companies we’ve been using are in support of acts we find to be immoral and wrong.

I’ve been doing my own research, but I would love to hear of some recommendations for some clothing brands or websites that are conservative/pro life/Christian, etc.

If anyone knows any shops or websites they love that fit with any of these categories please let me know! It seems like a lot of the fashion industry and big companies are pro abortion or extreme leftists and I don’t feel right about supporting them, as this is a topic I feel strongly about.

23. What's your dream date?

Honestly, I'm not fussy. When my husband and I started dating, we went on lots of little hiking trips and roadtrips. And that was perfect for me. The first fancy restaurant he took me to, I was so awkward, lol. I'm not good in social situations, much better one-on-one.

36. If you could learn one language fluently what would it be?

I'm so glad you asked this because I'm not-so-secretly a huge language nerd irl! I know I should answer with something useful like Spanish, French, or Mandarin...but I need to feel an emotional pull to the language, if that makes any sense. So I'd have to say either Welsh or Scottish Gaelic. If only because I then I could sing along to old Celtic songs perfectly! I've actually been studying both languages on duolingo, but recently I got so tired of duolingo's format, I just had to stop for a bit. But I do love those two languages very much.

74. Do you tend to prefer being babied, or do you prefer taking care of someone else?

I'd have to say I prefer being the caretaker. I spoil my husband rotten, I tell you what! I make him supper and cuddle him and sing to him...like he's a baby, lol. But, he takes care of me, too. That's what marriage is all about, looking after each other's needs. Honestly, though, I've always been the caretaker in pretty much all of my relationships (yes even with my own parents), so I just feel a little uncomfortable being taken care of, myself. But I've gotten better at accepting being cared for since we got together.

The Rosebud of Our Marriage

This letter is to let you know how much I respect and admire you and most of all to thank you. Because of your many loving prayers and your wonderful class, Fascinating Womanhood.

You aren't just a teacher, but a friend who really cares. I'm learning to love myself, to be positive and not negative and to live in God's word. So many wonderful changes are happening not only in myself but the rosebud of our marriage is beginning to blossom. This month is our 22nd anniversary, and our love is almost brand new. Also, our daughter who is almost 19 is seeing a new Mom and Dad.

One of the quotes I cherish from your class is, "It is kindness in women, not their beauteous looks, that will win my love" (William Shakespeare). Jesus is showing me His kindness, healing mercy and joy. I am becoming that kind woman and loving wife. My husband sees that change in me and I see strong loving changes in him.

For my birthday he gave me a pretty nightie and said, "Happy Birthday." I was happy he remembered, but my favorite gift was even better. He surprised me so completely! He saved up money and paid for a whole week in a motel close to the church so I could attend your conferences without driving back and forth twice a day. He also got me a ticket to the luncheon. It was the best present he could give me. I got so much more from the conference.

Thank you, Gilly, for teaching me to quietly support and pray for him. He is growing so much! He is now born again and we pray together. He is being filled with self-esteem and we are so much closer. Many things I've prayed for are happening in his business. . . Praise God! Thank you. I love and pray for you always.

There are a lot of things that I want to change about my life, many of which I am actively working on.

I want to spend more time with God. I want to be more patient with myself and with those around me. I want to fall in love and get married and have children. I want to go camping. I want to improve my time management, get better at sewing, I want to journal. I want to help people, to be positive and uplifting, and to always leave people better than I found them. I want to live somewhere other than the Midwest. I want to go to church more.

But I’ve also been trying to be more aware of the things I am happy with in my life, even if they’re not exactly what I would have asked for five years ago.

I am thankful that I have a job where I get to spend all day with children, and that my job is right next to a nature preserve where I can go hiking after work. I’m grateful that I’ve found healthy hobbies like sewing and baking and reading. I thank God daily that I am sober. I’m thankful for having a healthy relationship with my family. I’m glad that my mental health is improving.

Perspective is important. Things do get better. Some things are in my control and some aren’t, but all of it is in God’s hands.
