Note on Nasmatûrian ‘Sleep’
So, like the elves of Dungeons and Dragons, Nasmatûr do not require sleep. Instead they enter meditative trance, known in their tongue as Codlûr. This is hard to translate into English, so we’ll just stick with ‘Trance’ that D&D provides. They physically require less time to become ‘fully rested’ as humans might call it, but due to the spiritual nature of Codlûr, they often spend just as much time there.
Codlûr can be many things to many people at different points in time. To warriors, it is a place to continue to drill their mind and body in the rigors of combat through esoteric dreamscapes that they can use to combat any number of creatures in any number of environments. To the religious, it is an opportunity to speak with the divine or their messengers; gaining direct guidance where others would struggle to find any. For some, it is a way to relive the day and and see where they could improve ( It should go without saying that some become trapped in this, seeking to see their loved ones again ).
Ilizasor often uses it to keep his mind and body sharp, like the warrior he was raised to be, though he also enters a sort of spiritual graveyard, where he takes time every now and again to visit what reminders he has of his past friends and family. Once he passes into The Green Bay, he also sometimes visits the dreams of his children to see how they are doing, and to let them know that their parent loves them very much.
