Had Cirilla and Emhyr var Emreis meet again?

Their last meeting had happened in Styga Caste, when emperor Emhyr has let her go. And he added: "Va faill, luned" ("Farewell, daughter").

Emperor Emhyr was presented as "a man of his word", strict and tough leader (at least, he acted like that with his subjects).

"...I have trampled the corpses of people and danced on the barrows of my enemies. I thought that was all I could look forward to. But your suspicions are unfounded - will never be able to hurt her. I know that now..."

Emhyr's last words to Yennefer and Geralt are te best illustration of his intentions. So he let Cirilla go, be free. Emhyr rejected own plan and "true prophecy" he knew from Vilgefortz.

"Do not kill him. Remember, Ciri. You cannot!"

"Fear not, I didn’t even think about it. You know, Geralt, I’ve had enough of killing. There has been all too much"

Geralt said Cirilla not to kill Emhyr var Emreis, knowing he's her biological father. Ciri didn't know that, but anyway abandoned to kill him.

So I've got a legitimate question: why people who said "farewell" to each other and rejected their plans, changed their intentions should meet each other again?

Emhyr var Emreis doesn't seem to be a person who is able to talk it all back or be afraid to such an extent of corporations and aristocracy, though in TW3 CDPR shows him in such a way.

Cirilla is traumatized by her past influenced by Emhyr var Emreis' (and others' to a different degree) deeds.

Scared by nobles emperor of Nilfgaard cooperates with Witcher and Sorceress to find their daughter together.

And we don't care that this emperor always acted the opposite of what nilfgaardian aristocracy expected. We don't care that these Witcher and Sorceress were ready to do whatever it takes not to make their "daughter" upset and make her cry again. And we don't care that this "daughter" has already chosen her way far away from her biological father, policy and court conspiracies.

And yes, we don't care that this emperor already has Cirilla Fiona Ellen Riannon.

So I just got this comment on my most recent Aiden/Lambert fic and this person left it anonymously therefore we have the right to laugh (we do anyways)

I have just a couple things to say about this.

1) My brother in Christ, you realize that Lambert is a fictional character, correct?

2) My brother in Christ, you realize that this pairing is TECHNICALLY not even canon, right?

3) My brother in Christ, you realize that me choosing a particular SKIN of a character does not change the actual character, right?

4) My brother in Christ, it’s FREE fanfiction.

5) My brother in Christ, it would have cost you ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to not leave this comment. In fact, you took the time to type this out, further impacting yourself and not me, correct?

6) My brother in Christ, you still READ the 10k word kinky smut all the way to the bottom just to leave this comment, correct?

7) My brother in Christ, you realize I have read the books and played the game AND watched Netflix and just chose the SKIN of Lambert I wanted, correct?

and lastly,

8) My brother in Christ, you realize the most “shallow and gross” thing here is you leaving a hate comment anonymously, correct? Say it to my face you flaccid fuck.

Anyways. The last thing I want to say is Netflix’s actor for Lambert, Paul Bullion, is an absolutely remarkable human being that I admire very deeply and would not have known about had it not been for the Netflix series. Just yesterday he competed in another triathlon to raise money for the Calm Zone, a non-profit that campaigns against “living miserably” and suicide. I want to believe that this commenter doesn’t have ill will towards the cast for working with what they had, but my brother in Christ, I took that as disrespect.

Also @just-a-himbo-and-his-feral-bard / @frecklesanddamane helped me write this fic so you’re attempting to insult her too and now we are laughing.

Shite like this is the reason I’ve not been posting on this account too much, which is a shame, because I actually post my writing and put myself out there unlike whomever decided to be the bastard bairn of an Anonymous Andy and Negative Nancy today.

I cannot get over that Klaroline edit with protective Caroline. If you know any good fics with protective Caroline (or vice versa bc we love protective couples in general), please share!! But on a related note, I can absolutely see Klaus just being super soft and gentle with Caroline after an incident like that, but do you think Klaus would let Caroline do the same? And kind of baby him bc she was so worried about him? Or do you think he would try to act all tough and manly? But then eventually give in anyway bc COME ON, it’s wifey Carebear

That was such a stunning edit! ❤❤ I have to think about that one. I have probably read so many fics with that trope because it's genuinely one of my favorites, but none recently, and sadly I have the worst memory in the history of ever. 🥲 If things aren't fresh in my mind, I need to see them written down in order to remember.

One I can recall but that's not exactly that, but something close to it, is All I Need. Just be careful cause it's NSFW, but it's incredible actually, so if you enjoy smut, it's chef's kiss!

And speaking of @euvixen, I just remembered Worst Things Have Happened (to which she wrote two amazing sequels) and I think it has a little bit of Caroline taking care of Klaus as well, even though it's nothing extreme. If you're into the more hurt/comfort type of protectiveness, long limbs and frozen swims by @definedareasofuncertaintynedare is absolutely stunning and such a delicate study of grief and trust (tw for mentions of death and all). And I think Wanderlust by @bellemorte180te has loads of protective Klaus goodness too.

If anyone knows of any really good fics that feature Klaus and/or Caroline taking care of each other in moments of vulnerability, my inbox is open for some recs, pls!

As for your question, I don't think so. 😂 I think Klaus would make a terrible patient. He probably loathes the idea of being vulnerable in front of someone else, and that's likely something he'd only ever let happen if he was in no position to help it. But even then he'd be grumpy and difficult, even in front of Caroline. But I can also see him relaxing a bit and allowing her to soothe him. In TVD, when he thought his life was in danger and needed someone to help him, the person he called was her. Not his sister, not Stefan, who would have a direct interest in keeping him alive, but Caroline. I don't think that was a comfortable position for him, but she was the one person he trusted to be near him when he was weakened and vulnerable. And he looked so relieved when Silas!Caroline holds his face, he's like 🥺
