-It’s very fitting how something as basic as food is the grounds upon which this revolution is built. Putting that classic shonen stereotype of “main character who loves eating” to some damn good thematic use.
-”Good timing! Help me get these people off-” “HELP UUUUS!” sdkjhdjfhs rip
-”Underestimate Nico Robin... at your own peril.” That’s the smartest thing Sanji’s said in a long time.
-...okay that’s honestly a really good character moment. Sanji calls for Robin to save him not out of weakness, but because he trusts Robin’s strong enough to handle herself against all these foes. You win this time, black-leg.
-”I spent a lot of time working in evil organizations. And when someone hurts my friends... the demon part of me starts to emerge!” hahahahaha let’s fucking go
-”Oh, watch out, I froze the floor there.” sdkjfhsdkfhfsdf GOD WHY CAN’T SANJI BE THIS GOOD A CHARACTER ALL THE TIME
-”We have to knock them all out or someone will see us!” “That’s not how that works!” pfft
-Damn, Hyogoro out here looking like a proper Dark Souls boss.
-”That just sounds like you’re telling us to die!” “That’s exactly what I’m saying.” Well, at least he’s honest.
-”They may be our enemies, but their abusive system makes me sick to my stomach.” That’s the downside of being on Team Evil. Only a matter of time before you become just as expendable as the people you’re fighting.
-”I can stop a bad virus with a good virus instead!” That’s... you know what, sure.
-Once again, Morally Righteous Doctor Chopper is awesome.
-”I’m not a racoon dog!” “Oh... sorry!” fuckin lmao
-You know, I am genuinely impressed we went a whole stretch with Momonosuke hiding in Yamato’s clothes and there wasn’t a single pervert joke. That’s... progress, I think?
-exCUSE THE FUCK HOW IS ODEN HERE
I was right that Luffy landed the final blow in 1049 and we got the victory card in 1050. Thank goodness! The goal of the alliance achieved nearly ten years to the day.
I actually really like that Kaido and Big Mom fall in parallel paths beneath Wano.
Kaido’s fall literally parallel’s Big Mom’s, meaning Luffy’s victory parallels Kid and Law’s, further keeping the Captain Trio on the same level.
(Also, technically, Law made that hole, not Big Mom, but that’s just me being a pedant.)
I know the cracks eventually cause the quite stunning explosion at the end of the chapter, bit they also like they could break off part of Wano itself, which may play in to the opening (or lack thereof) of Wano’s borders.
We also see Big Mom and Kaido in the magma pool.
That explains why Law took all the blows to continue extending Kikoku at the end of that fight: he was trying to reach the underground magma. What better way to take down an Emperor than to throw them into freaking magma?
It’s worth noting that Big Mom has been down there longer than Kaido, too. If she’s still alive after being exploded by bombs, submerged in magma, and then erupted... well, she’s nothing short of a monster -- and it shows you the strength of Kid and Law to take her down.
This panel is so freaking cool, both the gorgeous eruption and the victory box.
Nothing much to say on this one, just that it’s a sweet panel:
The Toko/Yasuie flashback made me tear up. Toko’s revised wish on her lantern? Sobbing.
And, with the battle over, it’s time to stand tending to the wounded. Everyone is coming to Chopper, and he’s overwhelmed.
Good thing there are a couple of other doctors around, though I don’t know how much Law or Marco have left at the moment.
This is a cool panel, too:
Momo here echoes Kaido when he came to Kuri to find Luffy and Law at the beginning of the arc, but while that had been a moment of terror and foreboding, this is now a moment of joy.
And then out of the shadows...
come the ghosts of Wano: Komurasaki and the Scabbards. Again, parallels: we met the ghosts at the beginning of the arc when Law brings Luffy up to Oden’s castle and Luffy finds the gravestones, and now we’re seeing the ghosts come to life.
*bangs on the table* LET HIYORI BE SHOGUN.
I’m also looking forward to the reunion of the Kozuki siblings; it’s going to be weird with Momo now having an adult form.
Also, Denjiro is that guy in the group project who barely does any work then takes the credit on presentation day XD
Finally, the most important panel of the chapter:
Besties reunited!
Personal Post
I know I haven't been active lately, but that's because I had to fly to a different state for work and I haven't had a lot of time to check in 😅 (I'm flying home today)
BUT, I found this really awesome Ramen shop that plays anime in the background and I wanted to share it with y'all. If any of my US friends find themselves in Grand Rapids, check out Sapporo Ramen and Noodle Bar!
My recommended feed is full of OFMD and One Piece. I'm a sucker for LGBTQ pirates who have found their true family among their crew
*whispers* and they were crewmates...
-This is happening. We’re actually fighting two emperors at once. Great. Great great great great.
-”That makes it sound like I was following your orders!” kjdfhkdjfhsd oh just kiss him already
-Our heroes, ladies and gentlemen.
-That feeling when you unleash all our party’s ultimate moves at once and it still barely makes a dent.
-I barely know what to say here. This fight is just... colossal.
-”My flame didn’t work either? Why?!” “GUTS!” ahahahahahaha holy shit
-Tornados. Sure. Why not.
-And meanwhile, Cipher Pol is just sitting on their lazy asses hoping the bad guys will do their dirty work for them. The very model of good governance.
-So the site I’m reading on also has some one-off chapters drawn by other shonen jump artists, and it’s really cool to see. Food Wars’ author makes surprisingly good use of Sanji, and Dr. Stone’s author delivers a beautiful episode of Ace’s backstory. It’s honestly kind of unfair, the art in both these chapters is so much better than in One Piece itself.
Hey Franky how are you today????
I wanted to ask you who do you think is a green flag to have a crush on, who is a red flag and why, with all the characters you want (could you include Zoro, Sabo, Ace and Mihawk?)
Thank you so much and have a great day/night!!!
I have headcanons like this kinda here I have the 'disadvantages' and 'advantages' of dating OP Chars but I am willing to something like this too!
Ace: GREEN and RED Why? If you know how to handle the temper, baggage, and self-esteem issues he’s a green. If you want something simple and trouble-free then baby, he ain’t that. He will be asking you if you’re mad at him 12 times a day and will fistfight a wasp on a whim. He’ll also throw hands at himself on a regular basis.
Marco: GREEN he’s very laid back and if you managed to piss him off, you are probably a red flag.
Thatch: GREEN just look at that wholesome loaf.
Izou: RED he will destroy you if you even make a cup ring on his oak table.
Sabo: You might think with that smile he’s a GREEN but oh my God, he’s a RED and if you piss him off you better run or know someone way more unhinged than him. Also, his wardrobe, I could give him a pass if he didn’t look like a Victorian mass murderer.
Luffy: RED Nothing wrong with him, just if you can’t keep up with him you are going to be tired and want to strangle him with himself. If you can’t handle being around children, don’t pursue him.
Sanji: RED oh man, he’s so problematic all wrapped up in a cute suit and doofy heart eyes. He’ll more than likely make you cry.
Zoro: RED unless he can drink you, fight you, nap on you. The only way he’ll hold you is if your sword-shaped.
Usopp: GREEN but he is a lair, coax that out of him and he’s perfect.
Robin: GREEN, not my cup of tea but she’s a queen.
Franky: GREEN he's not wearing enough to be hiding something from you.
Chopper: If YOU are considering Chopper then you’re the RED flag.
Jinbei: Green <3 perfect
Brook: RED it’s like when you think ‘awww I want a turtle as a pet, so cute’ and then the fucker outlives you but on top of that wants to see your panties.
Nami: RED like the card machine when declined comes up after you let Nami use your card to shop with.
Roger: RED he is the human equivalent to people TyPiNg LiKE tHiS UnIrOniCalLy
Rayleigh: RED he’s like a cat, you’ll feed him, love him, pet him and he’ll fuck off for months on end, make you worry, but he’s curled up in some old ladies house because she got the better snacks.
Buggy: RED – BECAUSE IF CAPS LOCKS WAS A PERSON.
Shanks: His hair isn’t the only thing that’s RED. The one good thing about him is his baggage is in lost and found somewhere.
Mihawk: RED like the wine that you spilt on his carpet that one time and now he has a hit out on your ass.
Doffy: -ME WAVING THOSE BIG RED FLAGS THAT LAND AIRCRAFT-
Crocodile: RED his left shoe costs more than your entire life and he will step on you.
Law: RED his troubles are as long as the grandline and just as easy to read as the poneglyphs.
Kid: his GREEN flag is Killer. If they come as a package, I might let him slide.
Killer: GREEN because honestly, with the captain he has it’s obvious the man has the patience of a saint.
Corazon: GREEN flag you might think it’s a red flag from afar, but I assure you that’s just the fire.
TO THE ONE PIECE ‼️‼️
All these designs will be available as stickers and charms when our shop opens on June 3rd! 💖
I am mean to Usopp this chapter 😃
The Cost of Immortality (or Legacy) by Evilgu - One Piece
This is Law's way of getting back at them for never following his plans
This gets 500 times funnier when you remember Law was raised catholic
Usopp looses a year of his life everytime he hears Luffy say shit like that
